Golden's Fish and Chicken

Food is fresh and hot, cooked well, but I don’t know what happened to the perch. Used to be nice sized pieces, now the four pieces you get in a meal are basically the size of ONE of the old pieces. Finished my meal and was still hungry. Thought it was just a fluke last time but seems to be the norm now.

Recently they got a new guy that doesnt quite hear to well over the phone. I always order wings and fries special and if he answers half the time I end up with a leg and thigh. So I do reiterate my order before ending the call to make sure. Plus adding lemon pepper to the fries is delicious as well and a must for me.

I recently had a disappointing experience at this local burger spot. The staff member taking orders was polite, but the quality of the food was lacking. The cheeseburgers were dry, the fries were undercooked and soggy, and the cheesecake was tasteless. It seemed like they hadn't even started preparing my order when I arrived for pickup, despite being told it would be ready in 30 minutes. I'll give them another chance in a couple of weeks, hoping it was just an isolated bad night. I hope these comments, although critical, can help them improve. We need these private local eateries I've boycotted corporate fast food for rest of year. I was really counting on a good experience ?

I got food poisoning on Thursday by eating their 15 piece chicken wings my brother had bought me. I'm never eating here again. I was in a lot of stomach pain because of it. Took me 3 days to recover. Management you need to do better and take accountability. I went here to make a review to see another person gotten food poisoning too. What a disgrace. I understand its a family made food place but as you see your customers are getting sick then take accountability and find the source.

Got good poisoning from eating a Philly Chicken Sandwich. For some reason the guy put mushrooms on the sandwich. The inside of the store is dirty and is very gloomy. With old shelf storage food in order to accept foodstamps, most of the food is old and not really for sale. This place is gross and the only real reason to eat here would be to get some fried food because you don't want Taco Bell or McDonalds late at night. Would just wait until breakfast in this case.

Parking: A small dirty shared lot with the tobacco store and the old Metro PCS store that got robbed too many times and now closed.

Fries were unsalted, but you get plenty. Hush puppies were almost burnt and had almost no flavor. Chicken was chewy. The only good thing about the food was that it was hot. The place itself was dirty. They have some food and convenience store type items you can buy with EBT but it's strewn about and some items were expired (I went here in Aug '24 and a jar of peanut butter on the shelf had expired Feb '24)

I've eaten here several times, and it was (5 stars) great each time. However, this time, not so much. They only had 1 employee doing everything, including taking orders and cooking. The only can pop availabe was grape flavored and no alternative was offered. Service was not the greatest. I'll wait a while before I return.
