The health care system is broken and this place is evidence of that. They don't bother to read their patient charts. This is the single most rediculous medical experience we've ever had. O-10.
DO NOT GO INTO THE HEALTH CARE FIELD IF YOUR NOT GOING TO TAKE OTHER PEOPLES HEALTH/LIFE SERIOUSLY!!!!!!!!!!!! Came here for my boyfriend chin being split open and a concussion at 12AM the place was empty and the service is just terrible and disappointing everyone here is young and dk how to do there job. Even the doctor wasnt sure on her work i would ask a simple question and she would say uhhhhh before she answered its giving you still need schooling if your unsure abt what to do if u cant answer a simple question about your work and answered a phone call while stiching him up. Took 2 hours to even be looked at then took 2 more hours to even get stitched up mind you he was dripping bl00d this whole entire time. And they told us to wait for a doctor to even help us and wanted to put a bandaid on a big gash like it was going to help you could see the meat in his chin. Then when we used the remote for a nurse to come help they ignored our call and when i walked out of the room they was both sitting at the desk on there phone sitting back an relaxing this place just opened and needs to be shut down already instead of helping there sitting in the hallway laughing at there phone as im typing this. Very disrespectful and just unprofessional all together
I don’t know where to start! This Hospital is just sad. I understand that our healthcare system is a disaster and staffing is terrible everywhere but there is just so many things I can say about this place.
I’m at a loss.
Most of the staff have been kind, unfortunately there are not enough of them.
This hospital is FILTHY!! I honestly can’t believe it is still open, the filth has to be a safety issue!
There is absolutely NO discharge planning, really not even sure if there is a department for that at this hospital! It’s just unbelievable!!
I’m not even going to get into the meals they send out to these patients….YIKES!!
I am so concerned about having a loved one there.
The lack of options with our healthcare system is just heartbreaking.
Great Hospital
Airamark cooks for the hospital
GARBAGE !!!!FOOD. SAME FOOD PRISON SERVE. Why are patients being punish ??? Food not fit for a dog !!
My loved one had surgery here and there is a rounding surgical nurse who comes to speak with family and give updates on progress during the surgery which I felt was an excellent way to help the patients' loved ones through a difficult time! Much appreciated!
Had ovarian & uterine cancers. Had total hysterectomy. They were really good with me. Gentle, compassionate and very well skilled surgeons teaching surgeons. Didn’t scar me up too badly.
I was in room 5821 12/12/2025 after major surgery Itavia was my nurse that she was excellent how ever when I would hit the nurse call button at least 2 or 3 times I finally got ahold of whoever worked during day shift and a anthesologist named Matt was excellent and he came to check me out about swelling of arms I noticed the hallways were dirty also service was good though
I’m giving 5 stars to the outpatient surgery area I had surgery today 11/25/2025 the staff was really kind and paitent in the pre op room and the staff in the operating room was kind and making me feel comfortable and safe and making sure I was warm enough. I just wanna say thank you to to all the Surgery staff that did my IUD on Kailynn Hollers exspecially Dr Caldwell u was very nice. And with my autism and anxiety it hard for me in new places I’ve never been too can make me overwhelmed and I’m glad the surgery staff let me take two big comfort items of mine witch is my blanket and glasses THANKS SO MUCH UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL YALL DESERVE TO BE NUMBER 1 HOSPITAL IN THE STATE AND HAVE A 5 star rating for all reviews
Recently had a stay here and the nurses and the Techs are very caring and get things done in a quick manner and they act like they honestly care about my well being. I had a good stay and I feel so much better being back home..

My son had a colonoscopy today. The staff was caring. They were professional and answered all questions. Endo was extremely clean.
I’m giving it four stars because the elevator was dirty. The no cash gate to get out could be a problem for anyone that might not have a credit card.
Very rude Ethiopian woman who cleans the rooms and restrooms. She is a poor reflection of the hospital staff on the ICU floors.
ICU is a very sensitive place for families while their loved one is recovering. Please coach her or take her off the Kidney Transplant ICU floors.
On our way from vacation in Florida to home outside of Chicago, I began experiencing eye pain and realized I had a gray spot on my iris. I believed this to be a corneal ulcer which is an emergency. I walked into the hospital, was registered within three minutes, immediately triaged, then immediately taken back to be seen in the ER. Within five minutes, I was talking to a nurse, then a resident, then an ophthalmologist. The examination and service was so thorough, I was gobsmacked. Each person my family and I came into contact with was professional and compassionate. My family and I were sitting in our examination room for no more than ten minutes during our two hour stay without being tended to by medical staff. 10/10. Highly recommend.
I go there for the pharmacy and they are so helpful I love the staff
My sons rooms on the 4th floor West Transplant Wing has roaches in his room. Someone who has undergone major surgery should not have to deal with ROACHES IN THEIR RECOVERY ROOMS. Staff was very nonchalant and not surprised. They did not move him!
