On our way from vacation in Florida to home outside of Chicago, I began experiencing eye pain and realized I had a gray spot on my iris. I believed this to be a corneal ulcer which is an emergency. I walked into the hospital, was registered within three minutes, immediately triaged, then immediately taken back to be seen in the ER. Within five minutes, I was talking to a nurse, then a resident, then an ophthalmologist. The examination and service was so thorough, I was gobsmacked....
My sons rooms on the 4th floor West Transplant Wing has roaches in his room. Someone who has undergone major surgery should not have to deal with ROACHES IN THEIR RECOVERY ROOMS. Staff was very nonchalant and not surprised. They did not move him!
Went here 2 times and stayed here for a week last month in May 2025 cause I had to. The only issue with this hospital is the service is kinda bad cause of short staff and nurses. They just need more nurses. Sometimes Had to wait at least 2 or 3 hours just for a nurse to show up to my room. Long wait times for nurses because there helping other patients. I was on 4th floor. My room number was 4819. Other than that all the Dr's was really nice and kind and explained everything...
