The sushi and appetizers were wonderful. The clam chowder was the best ive had at a restaurant in years. However the main entree i had was the ahi is it was extremely under seasond as well as my friends cowboy steak. They felt like after thoughts on the menu that had no real flavor. It wasn't enough to make me not want to go back just know that those to dishes need reworked or taken off the menu. Try something else. For a price point of over $30 for a meal that had now flavor or soul. I left me disappointed.

Yesterday afternoon, the sun was hitting the patio just right, one of those rare, spectacular Indiana days you never take for granted. I was sitting outside at Kona Jacks in Indy with a new colleague who just moved here from the East Coast.
He stared at the menu, tracking his finger up and down the seafood section, his face growing more tense by the second as he tried to decide what to order. You could practically see the coastal snobbery warring with his hunger. He looked up at me, dead serious, and asked what was actually safe to eat here since good seafood is impossible to find in the Midwest.
Our server, Karlie, stepped up right at that exact moment, smiled, and told him that everything is incredible here because they fly it in fresh daily, so he should just pick what he was in the mood for. I thought to myself, please do not let this crash and burn, because if this food is sub-par, I am never going to hear the end of it from the new guy and my go-to spot is going to be ruined.
We ordered the Fish and Chips, and the tension instantly evaporated. It was crispy, light, flawlessly fresh, and hands down one of the single best iterations of the dish in the city.
Karlie nailed the service by being funny, knowledgeable, and perfectly attentive without ever being intrusive. The meal was worth every single dollar. If you want elite seafood and great service, go to Kona Jacks, and if she is working, ask for Karlie because she will take phenomenal care of you.

The food was good, the service not so much. They were moderately busy, there were 2-3 tables open the whole time i wa there. Unfortunately I felt like I was being rushed out. I had to ask to order a glass of wine and had to ask for bread. My wine and chowder arrived at the same time. I took two bites of the chowder when my entre arrived. My check arrived 10 minutes later. It was like they wanted to turn the table in 30 minutes or less. I left feeling no need to return.

Been a customer for many years and the whole experience was dull and not good...very disappointed. Starting with the hostess who appeared to be very annoyed that we were there. . One of the highlights of dining there used to be the house salad and even it was warm and uninviting. Macadamia nut crusted Mahi Mahi was one if their star entrée and it has also been removed from the menu although it still shows on the Open Table menu for them. As much as I would like to give them another try, I won't be going back.

Our Valentine's Dinner was ok. My wife enjoyed her dinner more than I did due to my steak being cold. Our server was great. Overall it was ok. Not the worst experience but not the best experience in eating out for us.
