A little annex in the grocery store. It's fine for a quick stop but seating is not very cozy and the menu is just not interesting. Would like to see some breakfast sandwiches or something else.

Wasn't open when it said it would be and nobody was around to help. The location was also quite unclear. Hoping to revisit when able.

PRO: Convenient to grocery store, good location, good atmosphere, good view, quiet, plenty of seating and table space, not expensive. CON: My latte was mediocre - a hard shortcoming for a cafe. I've been meaning to try this cafe ever since it opened. It's run by Needler's grocery, and I have to say I'm impressed that they went all in on a proper coffee shop. It's always quiet when I walk by, and I imagine it's a good hideaway if you want some space to get work done. Great for people watching on Mass Ave too. I bought a medium latte - 16oz for $3.61 is a good price, but the latte was only on par with Starbucks quality. Bonus points for the attempt at latte art in my to-go cup, but the milk had the telltale soap-like foam bubbles from being scalded. My drink was served in two cups to help insulate, but it seemed like a waste of a cup. From what I had heard about their rotation of local bean roasters and from the look of the place, my expectations were let down a little. I think this cafe could be excellent with just a couple simple tweaks, and I would have been happy to pay a little more to get a better latte with higher quality milk and better milk steaming (not scalded). With two great coffee shops within a 60sec walk from Lemon's, I would be hard-pressed to choose this cafe over Coat Check or Commissary, even if it means coughing up an extra $1-$1.50.

It's almost unfair that Mass Avenue gets so many high quality places to eat/shop. I would have missed this one if not for the keen eye and reviewing of some Yelp friends who let me know. First benefit is that it is located within Needler's grocery, so you have free parking in their lot for 2 hours. That's right next to Mass Avenue. No meters. No hunting. No having to back out into oncoming traffic. This is a great place to take care of business! Next, it has direct access from Alabama Street with large windows for people watching if you like that sort of thing. You can step right off the Cultural Trail and refuel right here. The place has a variety of ready to eat lunch options and lots of beverages to choose from too. Want some fruit to go with your meal? There is a full grocery to choose from right there!! And, if you like all those things, wait until you try the goodies they sell in the central island of the cafe. A friendly woman was working there and answered my questions, checking to make sure I got the exact item that caught my eye before ringing my order. They have large muffins, cannolis, beautiful icing works of art that have cupcakes under them, and cookies. Oh, and they sell coffee too! What are you waiting for, an invitation? Okay, you are invited!! Review #3208

What a great spot to pop in and grab a coffee, snack or quick lunch right off of the Cultural Trail. It's also a terrific space to enjoy your selection from the Needler's salad bar while enjoying a coffee too. Lemon's Bakery and Cafe is located on Alabama plus you can also walk through Needler's to reach. It is a decent size cafe with a cooler full of beverages, a few types of sandwiches, salads and snacks plus Rosie's treats and a friendly barista. Low top tables and communal window seating is along the outside walls with the order/pay counter in the center of the cafe or pay upfront with your groceries. The bakery case has an excellent selection of delicious bakery items from the amazing Rosie's Bakery to tempt you. No need to drive to Zionsville, Carmel or Noblesville when you're craving Rosie's treats. Brownies, gooey cookies, cinnamon rolls, pastries, muffins, bagels and two sizes of cakes, just to name a few, are right here. I enjoy a coffe while I'm grocery shopping especially if I haven't eaten recently. So I walked back to grab a Pumpkin Spiced Latte and a Rosie's lemon bar (for home). The barista was friendly and had no problem adding extra pumpkin spice to my latte as requested. Reasonably priced latte, made quickly and as requested. The lemon bar was wonderful as always. The atmosphere was laid back and surprisingly quiet. Several people were having lunch, a few people were having business meetings and others just picking up quick to go items. No long lines to wait through. I'll continue stopping by for my shopping coffee and whenever I need Rosie's gooey butter cookies and lemon bars. Check Lemon's out! Especially if you work downtown.

Hubbard & Cravens coffee served up in a large and usually quiet space. The baristas are helpful. The menu is extensive. The large windows offer a nice view of Alabama and Vermont streets and the extended wood counter offers a nice work space. Entrance on Delaware through the Lemon's Cafe door also offers a quick entrance in to Needler's Grocery and Pharmacy.

It's hard to beat this beautiful location overlooking the Cultural Trail, Alabama, Mass Ave and Vermont Street. The counter and low top seating is plentiful as well as outlets that make this ideal spot for remote work and meetings. Lemon's Bakery Cafe is located in the Needlers grocery store but also accessible on its own from the Cultural Trail side of the building. The window-filled space makes it easy to spot and great for people watching along Mass Ave and the Cultural Trail. They're serving up sweet treats from Rosie's in Noblesville- from the ever-popular ooey gooey butter cookies, German chocolate cake brownies, and chocolate crackle cookies. Such a fun space to find these Hamilton County treasures in the heart of downtown Indy. You can make treat purchases from either the cafe counter or with your other grocery purchases at the front. In addition to sweets, you'll find a rotating menu of local coffees (espresso drinks available) and local beverages like kombucha available as well.

The biggest thing Lemon's has going for it is location, location, location! With big windows overlooking perhaps the busiest corner on Mass Ave, the views and people-watching can't be beat. It also has the added convenience of being connected to an entire grocery/supermarket so you can grab whatever you need while supporting local, small business the entire time! There's a wide variety of quick lunch options as well. This is my go-to spot when I need to gtfo of my cubicle in the afternoon simply because of the bright natural light it bathes you in. Dark, cozy coffee shops have a time and place but I feel like there are so many of them and so few with cheery vibes that can match Lemon's atmosphere. The cold brew is definitely strong and will give you the kick you need to power through the day. I also like stopping in here if I walk or bike to work because there is rarely a line. The pastry options have never interested me, in part because I'm loyal to other downtown bakeries that just do those things so well.

So far this is a hidden gem, with a great view for people watching at the intersection of Mass Ave, Vermont, and Alabama. Yes, there is THE coffee chain just across the street, but if you want to support an alternative, this place has coffee, tea, and a ton of adorable sweets--many with lemon (thank goodness, my fave!). If you are looking for a less crowded spot with a great view, friendly staff (thank you Barbara for brewing up my tea for the last many Sundays!) or a cupcake covered with colorful flowers, this is the spot. Yes, it is part of Needler's, but it has its own personality and I love it. They also have quick-grab lunch stuff. It's bright and cheery and I love it. Welcome to the neighborhood!

I remember when this was this liquor section of the old O'Malia's/Marsh. I must say that this is a smart use of the space as a bakery/cafe. The space is open and bright with plenty of seating It has great views of Mass Ave and is right on the Cultural Trail. The location is ideal and I hope this spot gets a lot of traffic. I still work downtown and would often stop by Needler's to get something to eat and then get a coffee elsewhere while finding a spot to sit. Now I can get both here.
