“Came here during last stop on tour in Indianapolis looking at properties around Fishers/Carmel and had a taste inclination for a good gyro. This place did not disappoint. I love how the Cook inquired about the heat level we wanted for our plate and made it just perfect. The dish itself was great value, coming with a salad, fantastic rice, and great meat.
Two things that really stood out were the tzatziki sauce - it was definitely homemade and just the right amount of spices. I wish I had taken some to go home to be used as a treat for my meat dishes. It was creamy, somewhat salty and garlicky. My goodness!
Secondly, again - the meat was cooked to perfection, not too oily without being dry [it chewed wonderfully], and just the right amount of saltiness and flavor. It was all made to order fresh. I wish I had found this place sooner because I'd be coming here for dinner every day.
One thing that would've been more strategic to the dish in my opinion was the opportunity to swap out the rice for fries, since one of our members was not big on rice, and surely we could've asked for that but did not want to bother since it wasn't mentioned anywhere on the menu.
Overall, this was some of the better gyro/kebab avenue's we've ate at in a while!“

“Very nice and friendly staff. The man at the counter helped me pick my order and it was delicious. This is a clean quiet restaurant with good muwic. Good falafel, good rice, good baklava.“

“It’s kind of a hole in the wall place on Mass Ave, but the food, sevice and pricing is exceptional. I love their hummus and pita better than anywhere. The pita is soft and fresh and the hummus is perfect. They make it there. My favorite is the lamb gyros and the baklava. I have thought about moving downtown just to be closer so I can go there more often.“

“Fantastic Middle Eastern food at a reasonable price. The meat is delicious, and served fresh with lots of sides if you order one of the platters. Really spectacular food. Not an amazing location, so if you’re fussy, you might prefer takeout.“

“Our first time at Canal Bistro and we had an incredible brunch. The baklava-stuffed French toast was phenomenal, as were the breakfast potatoes with feta and garlic. Our server was knowledgeable and attentive, and the entire staff was working hard to ensure all patrons had a lovely experience. We will definitely be back!“

“Delicious Yemeni food. Wonderfully rich with flavor. not spicy. Staff will help you decide what to try. My favorite so far is the fasah. We're looking forward to saltah as a fall dish, too. Although they were super busy with to go orders, the atmosphere was still very friendly and casual. Highly recommend!“

“Tried Kabab Grill on E. 96th street last night and was very impressed. The hummus appetizer topped with chicken shawarma was tasty and served with thin pita. It was delicious. Husband had chicken shawarma wrap. Son ordered lamb plate that included very generous portion of tasty lamb cubes/chunks that were nicely prepared. Served with seasoned rice and salad. Unfortunately no salad dressing but easy to eat with other items we had ordered. Now for the star of the evening: freshly made melt in your mouth falafel! It was crispy on the outside, very light and tasty on the inside. Best I’ve had stateside. Served with hummus and salad. Baklava was very light and crispy. I’m looking forward to our next visit soon.“
