Canal Bistro Reviews
We went to Canal Bistro on April 18th; the food was incredibly delicious and our waiter, Reema, was fantastic. We had a baby with us and everyone was kind and considerate of all of us. I recommend this restaurant highly, and say Give Reema a big raise!!!
My absolute favorite restaurant in Indy - I love Canal Bistro! The food is exceptional. We are regulars for Sunday brunch and I always order the grilled salmon & eggs (pictured), but the whole menu is excellent. Their tilapia and couscous is another favorite. I am extremely health conscious and track all my food, and Canal Bistro offers the perfect menu of lean, high-protein options with incredible flavor. I can’t recommend them enough!
I was in town from Dayton and googled somewhere to eat along the canal.
The whole restaurant is beautiful!!
Everyone is so attentive, the service was incredible.
The food.. even better!! You have to try the dolmathes. We ordered a ton of food but they were my favorite.
I’m so glad we wondered in. Has to be the best spot in Indianapolis.

Canal Bistro is a restaurant that offers a delightful dining experience, with a variety of menu options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Standout dishes include the French toast, breakfast burritos, and chicken shawarma, which is extremely tasty. The moussaka and falafel are the best ever had, and the portion sizes are generous, with leftovers being plentiful. For beverages, try their Spicy Bloody Mary or a customized sweet tea with flavorings like Raspberry. The outdoor seating area by the canal provides a pleasant and charming atmosphere, where guests can enjoy the sun, watch ducks and geese swimming and flapping their wings, and listen to live music. The staff is friendly, helpful, and can be amazing and kind, contributing to a fabulous dinner. The restaurant is highly recommended for various occasions. Guests have praised the moussaka, noting it is different from lasagna, and the pita bread is significantly better than what is found in supermarkets. While the food and atmosphere are excellent, the service can sometimes be poor with long waits. The older building can get hot on warm days, so it's advisable to sit next to the air conditioner if needed.
