Chil people who work there that make amazing food

Wah gwan? Chinese Jamaican owned patties of Jamaica has been a staple of indy for 30+ years. Beef patties are a must have. Little secret: ask for the hot sauce to put on your patties. You will not be disappointed. Bless up!

Racism at it finest:We waited over1 hr :10minutes for order to go people pulled up after us was receiving their order before us, the guy said the kitchen made a mistake and just now starting to make our food-really, I believe it was because we were black couple, I just asked for a refund, so word to wise please don’t patronize if they don’t like us.

An Indy institution. Fall off the bone wings, curry is well seasoned and patties are a staple. Don’t forget the sauce!

I told my partner I wanted some authentic Jamaican food, and she brought me here thinking we were about to get real Caribbean flavor. Let me be honest — “Patties of Jamaica” should really be called “Patties of Indiana” because there was absolutely nothing authentic about this food. Rasa clot… this was terrible.

I’ve had Jamaican food from Jamaica to Brooklyn, New York, to Atlanta, and this was by far one of the worst Jamaican food experiences I’ve ever had. The beef patties barely had any meat inside, lacked seasoning, and were nowhere near flaky or flavorful like a real Jamaican patty from Golden Krust or a true island spot.

The chicken quarters looked seasoned on the outside, but the only flavor was on the skin, and it tasted more like basic store seasoning than authentic jerk seasoning. Once you bit into the inside, the chicken was completely bland. You could literally see there was no seasoning throughout the meat at all. No spice, no marinade, no Caribbean flavor whatsoever. Just plain chicken with seasoned skin.

I even watched them microwave my rice, and the food tasted exactly like reheated leftovers. To make matters worse, I saw someone in the back filling patties with no gloves on. Now I understand why the food is so cheap.

The customer service was friendly and respectful, and that’s the only positive thing I can honestly say. But good customer service cannot save bad, inauthentic food. Indiana, don’t let the 4.7 rating fool you if you’re expecting real Jamaican cuisine.

This is one of those little hidden local gems you hear about when you spend enough time somewhere talking to the folks who live there.

This place is tiny, only has one table and usually one person running the register. The wait can vary from a couple of minutes to an hour.

Prices are very fair and the food is more filling than you will expect. Go early because they do sometimes run out of stock of some things.

Most importantly of all, the food is GOOD. This is food unlike what you've had anywhere else - this place is truly unique. This is not just jerk seasoning you've had at a hundred other places. There is nothing like this place that I've found anywhere else.

Delicious, filling, cheap. The holy trinity for foodies, check this place out asap.
