The food is typically good here, always has been, however, the customer service here is horrible. No matter if you call in, walk in, or order online you will wait a long time for your food. Workers just don't move with any urgency whatsoever. Once they get your money, the couldn't care less how long you wait. Horrible.

I ordered a family catfish and I think i got hoodwinked. It was ok but that wasn’t catfish. It taste and looked just like Swai. And I bet if I came in that kitchen that’s exacerbated it is. Y’all owe me….. And fix that damn floor board that’s missing under that rug. You getting to much money sis

If you want the best gumbo greens in the city then visit Shrimp Hut off 38th and Emerson!! Go get you 2 side orders of gumbo and 2 side orders of greens and mix it!!! Thank me later!!

I would never go here again, this was my first time here and when I walked in it was three customers in there, I placed my order for 12 jumbo shrimp and a side order of fried green tomatoes @ 8:12 pm I didn’t get my order until 9:02pm the service lady was great but waiting damn near an hour for food is crazy I would never spend another dollar here and the food gave me the runs for two days and as a chef myself I should’ve stuck with my first mind and making a sub sandwich at home with a side of chips, please don’t waste your time here cause I almost fell asleep waiting on my order I don’t know if the staff was new or they had kids cooking but the food was a 4/10 never again

The food is always delicious, but the service is horrible. I placed an order online and it showed that it would be ready in 35 minutes after I place the order I arrived at the business 45 minutes after placing the order, but My food was not done. It was three older ladies just standing in front of the window, waiting on their order that they had already placed so I went outside and I called and spoke with someone who said 15 to 20 more minutes because they were busy and it still was not done. It took over 1 hr and 45mins. And the food wasn’t even HOT. I’m all for supporting black businesses, but no longer can continue to support shrimp hut. THEY NEED HELP!!!! so when thinking about going here, just know you’re on Black people time with them….. sad but so true. There was a man who placed an order 30 minutes after me in person and his food was done before mine. We had the exact same thing two perch dinners, except one of mine was a combo and I had shrimp. He received his food and was gone 15 minutes before my food was ready.

We have gotten food there at least 4 times, recently. The longest wait was 20 minutes. Very acceptable! The food was awesome, and we will be eating there again soon!
I wanted to try this place because it's hard to find good fish but when I went they said a 40 minute wait oh no no no that's too long to wait for some food so I left

You can’t tell me this packet of hot sauce wasnt dipped in and used already as I look at these chicken possibly fish crumbs in my sauce at first glance!

I bought some fried green tomatoes at the shrimp hut on W 38th Street, and they were terrible. They were mushy falling apart, not really cooked well. The fish was hard flat on the outside rubbery on the inside.
