This place is a vibe! It was an hour wait for a table, but there’s a pub nearby. It’s 100% worth the wait. The cocktail list is fun! The oysters were briny and the mignonette sorbet was bright and went well. The curry wings were flavorful and the ranch was herby and clean. The ramen was next level. You could tell the noodles were handmade and the broth was so savory! It was one of the best ramens we’ve ever had. We can’t wait to come back!

Drinks were great. Bartender was great. Me and my friend were sitting at the end of the bar talking and catching up and at 6:45 on a Friday night the manager came over and told us it was last call. I was very confused and asked if they closed at seven. He said no, but that they had a two hour limit on how long people could be in their facility. There were no signs or warnings about this two hour limit. We were causing no problems. Our bill was well over $100 and we would have kept ordering drinks, so it wasn’t that we were preventing them from making money. After the manager left the bartender begged us to stay and felt really bad about the manager telling us to leave and even gave us a gift card asking us to come back. Apparently the new management thinks it’s good practice to impose a two hour time limit even on customers who are spending good money there. We live in the neighborhood and have always loved the vibe of this place, but will not be going back after this experience.

We loved the bau buns, gyoza, ramen, and the Karaage (Japanese fried chicken pieces) . The drinks come in stylized glasses that are as fun to drink from as they are to look at. The chocolate silk and key lime pies were also delicious.

Had: Ramen, gyoza, painkiller, bao, shrimp cocktail. Baos were the best part of the meal, but apparently they aren't on the permanent menu anymore. There is better ramen in the city for sure. Ramen Ray comes to mind immediately. The inside is cool at least.

Strange Bird has wonderful vegan options! I always go for the gyoza and the vegan tonkotsu ramen. It's just incredible every single time. Not to mention the delicious and unique cocktails, great service, and fun environment! The tunes are always groovy too

Love Strange Bird / Shoyu Shop. Their tiki drinks are incredible and their ramen is fantastic. Also, the oysters are amazing. It's a pricey night out but totally worth it.

Themes and Gimmicks usually come at the expense of the service and or food. NOT HERE CHIEF 🌴🥥🍹🧉

The drinks were beautiful and tasty, the food was Quality, and the service was comfortable. We tried the Snow Bird off the seasonal drink menu and the Jungle Bird off the regular menu drink, ordered a dozen oysters that were so good we ordered 12 more, also tried the Katsu chicken and the spicy ramen.

We planned to also try out the Snug after but we were so perfectly happy we decided to save the Snug for a separate adventure.

The type of fun cocktails that I either had to go with my gut or google the ingredients. Didn’t disappoint. Oysters were delicious, curry chicken wings were tender, juicy, flavorful, and different. Handmade dumplings are always a must and they lived up to the hype. Pork belly ramen was perfect for the cold weather - amazing flavors. Our server recommended the spicy on the side and that was sound advice since I’m a bit of a wimp. I’ll definitely go back.

Take a break from the highways during a long drive and treat-yo-self here. Great vibes, menu and staff! The ramen is house-made and the broth was so rich and flavorful! We were a little skeptical of going this far off the highway during our trek, but it was absolutely worth it.
