Exceptional! Our waiter Brady was very good! Oysters were outstanding. Half priced on Sunday. Horse made ramen noodles. Everything was SO delicious.

My husband and I had a great time. Our waitress was awesome and really friendly (I secretly wanted to be friends with her). The food was all-around amazing. The dumplings with the shoyu sauce might have been my favorite out of everything. We tried the grilled oysters too, which were fantastic (and I can't do normal raw oysters because of the texture. These were perfect though). The teriyaki wings were perfect and my husband really enjoyed one of the ramen dishes. I wish I'd remembered to take a picture of everything but next time I will!

The menu is small but what the food is very good. However it is pretty over priced. Which would be fine if the service was good. But it is not good, it is quite bad. They are polite, yet they are some of the most inattentive servers I have ever encountered. They also like to talk just above a wisper and don't speak any louder when asked to repeat themselves. I have had the Ramen, wings, the toncotsu, and some of the appetizers. You need to order everything all at once because it's like trying to get the attention of a 5 year old.... just a truly frustrating restaurant. So much potential, but they put about 15% of the effort into their jobs so they have about a year left....

The kindest, most informative staff. You can get drunk on the atmosphere alone - the drinks are almost a bonus.

Solid ramen, friendly service, and a few nice beers to have with your meal. Didn't try the cocktails but they did look good.

We are...ramen connoisseurs. We've tried most of the top ramen places in Indy, Ramen Rays, Jinya, Wei, etc. Strange Bird has the best ramen we've tried, hands down. I got the tantanmen and my husband got the shoyu. The umami was out of this world! The shoyu was garlicky and tasty, but mine was spicy (but not too much), complex, just mind-numbingly delicious. We got the gyoza, it was just okay and a super small portion, we'll skip that next time.We also got the Painkiller, Scorpion Reef, and Pearl Diver tiki drinks. My husband makes Painkillers himself, and we've tried them at plenty of different spots, but I think this one was our favorite. Nothing was too sweet (which is a real issue with tiki drinks), and all the drinks were well-balanced and best of all, tasty! The atmosphere is cute, a mix of modern and tiki themed decor. The Inferno Room is a great example of a place that went all-in on the tiki theme, but this is light heartedly tiki but pretty modern. I personally think it's a great place to eat outside as it's in a pretty, non-sketchy, walkable, location in Irvington and the inside ambiance is good but not amazing. We will definitely be coming back to Strange Bird, and you should absolutely check it out too!

I love the atmosphere of Strange Bird. It has a uniquely tropical feel that oddly feels like home for this Midwesterner. The tropic themed drinks and the ramen are phenomenal. Overall very positive experience. The staff were courteous and the presentation of the food continues continues the vacay feel. It is a little oasis in the midst of a busy city. I highly recommend!

The food and service were great. The Interior seems as if the decor doesn't know what it wants to be, but at least it's bright. Four of us dined, we started with Gyoza, it was forgettable. For entrees, we had Katsu Curry, Shoyu Ramen, Tonkotsu Ramen, and Toga Blood Wings. All of the entrees were delicious. Cocktails are first-rate. We all agreed to return.
