The Abandoned Station is a comfortable, low-key neighborhood spot in Indianapolis, located across from Goose the Market on Delaware Street. It is an easy spot to miss but offers a unique vibe full of great energy and a relaxed feel. The place is an absolute blast and a favorite neighborhood hang for many.
The pizza is a major highlight, described as solid, amazing, and some of the best homemade pizza in Indy. The house-made dough makes a difference. They offer basics like cheese, pepperoni, sausage, veggie, BBQ chicken, and buffalo, plus interesting combinations. One standout is the pepperoni with basil, pesto, ricotta, and hot honey. They also have gluten free pizza crust. For those not wanting pizza, there are giant pub pretzels and house-made breadsticks served with beer cheese and mustard.
The drink selection is excellent. The custom drink recommendations are spot-on, with mentions of OJ Run, Sparkle Motion, Fallen Flag, and Cloud City. The draft beer list is well-rounded, featuring IPAs, stouts, lagers, sours, and favorites like Atlantic (an English-style barleywine) and Galaphobia (a milk stout). They also offer Aval French ciders.
The service is top notch, with awesome, super friendly, and helpful staff. The atmosphere is enhanced by a lively downstairs area with well-maintained pinball machines, skeeball, and other games, plus a Stern leaderboard. Pinball is 50 cents on Mondays. There is also a laid-back outdoor beer garden patio where dogs are welcome. It is a must-visit for great food, amazing drinks, and great people.
