Me and my husband was here for the Lakers game and the Blues festival concert. We visited The New Aj's two nights in a row.. Everything was perfect. The customer service, drinks, music and the grown folks atmosphere..we highly recommend this place. We will definitely come back..

AJ's is a hidden gem. Gwen and Madeline are very sweet. The decor and ambiance are nostalgic and it gives an old school feel. The music was good, drinks are heavy, and the fried fish is amazing! I'd go just for the fish alone!

I've been to AJs before and it has always been nice! Knot Ike and Tina(Band) played and they are good!! Definitely hope they play there again... nice bar, mix older crowd.. just what I like.... bathroom is clean with everything you need!

My lady and I stopped here on th way hom for a drink. We were first surprised by how plsant th ambience was; there are whit table cloths and a full nice worn bar. The place is immpcably decorated. They even have perfume for use by the patrons in th bathroom. We got there before 6 and were told that the kitchen don't open till 6; but they were nice bough to give us potato chips as a hold over. We were served by Gwen tho owner who's Aj's daughter. She tells us that Aj's is the oldest black owned bar in the city. They have a nice garden area in the back and we are told that this place gets pretty popular on the weekends. It's hard to describe the authenticity you can feel in this place. But I implore you to check it out!
