Shapiro's Delicatessen Reviews
Shapiro's is a classic, must/-go-to spot in Naptown. My family has been going to this cafeteria since the 70s and it never disappoints. Not the cheapest spot, but not bad either.Dietary restrictions: Plenty of kosher options. But, the food can be salty.Parking: Just south of downtown Indy.Kid-friendliness: Large tables for families available.Wheelchair accessibility: Very accessable for wheelchairs and electric mobility scooters.
Exactly what you'd expect a deli should be. More choices than you're likely ready to make. The rubarb pie was amazing. Pastrami piled high. I did have Ruben envy while I was there, but still confident I chose wisely. Haha. Mac and cheese is always a good decision. Even the spinach was amazing. We had several gluten free folks in our group who raved about the stuffed cabbage. ?

We got take-out at the advice of some friends who we were traveling with. They raved about the place. Told us we had to go there. Unfortunately, I could not see what the big deal was. Corned Beef was ok. Quantity was the least I've seen on sandwich in awhile. Definitely not a New York deli! It was okay, but no so great as to go out of my way.
