Just a heads up - the Google directions are confusing. It's right nextdoor to the East Washington library branch. You can park in the library's lot and walk over to Tlaolli. It's the light purple building. The entrance is on the back.

Food at Tlaolli is fantastic. I’m happy to see they are back open. They have plenty of vegan options and they are all really, really good.
Their vegan options are really delicious! My favorite are the vegan birria tacos and the tofu mole tacos. Their service is exceptional as well.

We were able to visit Tlaloli again after its reopening. (it was closed after vandalism). The food is extraordinary and the owner is very kind. Support this place!!

We were looking forward to eating here for my birthday, because it got featured in some food show, but it was closed. We arrived at 4:30pm (during opening hours). There was also something dark and gross at the entrance, with flies flying around it. What a let down!
Is it good? Yes, yes it's good. Is it $74 for 5 tacos and a cheese quesadilla good? No, no it's not that good.

We came for lunch as we saw it on DDD. I had 3 different tacos and the chipotle chicken was the best. The red salsa was great. The bean tamale was just ok, I would skip it next time for another taco. The chipotle chicken quesadilla was also good as was the corn. Small casual place with great service. The owner was very helpful and explained the whole menu.

This is one of my favorite places, but I don’t think I’ll be back because I don’t think the prices justify what I am getting. I normally get the Vegan Birria Tacos which come with 3 at $18.00. My niece got a small steak and rice bowl with a tiny amount of cojita cheese on the side. No other toppings. Hers was $19.00. We also got two Mexican cokes. $50.00 for 2 people (1 adult and 1 child) for the portions just seemed a little excessive.
My niece ended up liking the cheese so I went back inside and asked if I could have a little more (again she was given half of 2oz ramaken). The workers stared at each other and said they don’t know they’d have to ask their boss and he was outside and then just stared at me. I feel like for $50 of food I could get another small amount of cheese—I was even willing to pay for it but they didn’t even give me that option.
This place is an east side staple and one that I enjoy, but it will likely be a long time before I’m able to come back just because of the price point & portions.
