En Lai Kitchen on Teal Rd in Lafayette,IN will NEVER get my business again. I had been off work with a work- related injury without pay. I Door Dashed all day and was ready to retire for the night but I was very hungry and had a taste for En Lai's fried rice. I had enough for a small order. I called it in as I made my last delivery. I went to pick up my $8.00 order. The cashier charged me for someone else's order which was $23. I only had $25 on my card. The supervisor voided the order and informed me that the money should go back on my card by 12 midnight (mind you that they close at 10:00pm) It was about 9:45, close to closing. I asked her "What about my rice? " (I was very hungry). She told me that I would have to pay another $8 that I didn't have. She refused to give me the rice I ordered even though the mistake was their fault. Besides, they were closing and probably were going to throw away a lot of rice. She had terrible customer service!!!!! She did not apologize. She didn't accommodate me in ANY kind of way. I left there broke and still hungry. What a shame. You come into OUR country, run a successful business and treated me like TRASH. Thanks a lot En Lai.

Listen, I love En Lai but their vegetable soup is terrible. It’s barely cooked vegetables with vegetable broth poured over it. It’s like they took their lightly blanched veggies from their saute prep, and mixed up some dry veggie stock with water and just put them together. And it’s huge pieces of vegetables too, it’s like you have to eat it with a fork. It tastes like broccoli water, and it’s an insult to soup. The rest of the food at En Lai is delicious, but don’t get the vegetable soup.

The food is absolutely delicious. Out of this world good. The vegetable egg roll, that we were recommended by the person working the counter, was stuffed thick,fried beautifully, and made "in house"( which is just a fancy way of saying it was made there)! We ordered the roast pork fried rice and a special for the day which was garlic chicken pork with vegetables. Everything was cooked gorgeously, and the dining in portions are more than generous!Their Buffet doesn't appear to be in use any longer.Vegetarian options: There is a small section of 6 vegetarian options

Paid to substitute shrimp fried rice for white rice. Shrimp fried rice not in the bag only white rice. Charged for extra Chinese mustard that I did not ask for and was not told about but read on receipt after I became Sick while eating the shrimp egg foo young. I was charged for food I did not receive and for items I did not ask for. The food was bad. I felt if I returned it they would have lied twisted the truth and I would have been judged wrongly so I thought it best to just throw the food away and never patronize this place ever again. I believe Racism played a part in what happened. I am African a senior citizen and went into this place by myself.
