the place is dark, verrrry dark which matches the tables which were peeling varnish. It may be time to brighten things up. i had the special which was ashrimp and chicken pasta. the shrimp was well cooked and the flavor of the sauce was good but it was so oily from the cheese. Puddles in the dish and it was a bit much. something to look at. I don't think I'll go back due to the dark basement lighting. But I'll say that our waitress was great and attentive. Theres room for improvement but it's not awful.

The olive oil with the bread was delicious. I am not sure what they mixed with the oil, but I couldn’t get enough. Abby was our server and she took very good care of us. Everything we ordered was delicious, from the meatballs to the cannoli. I suggest making a reservation.

We stopped here as we passed through Indiana. Very good choice to eat here! Alfredo with scallops and chicken parmesan were both amazing. Highly recommend this family owned restaurant.

Made reservations for a special date night for family members of ours.Based off their description of their experience, we were told that the seating was less to be desired and uncomfortable because everything was so close together giving them very little room or privacyThey were seated next to a table of guests that were loud and they weren’t offered different seating even though plenty of seats were vacantThe dinner rolls served to them before their meal were hardThe food was OK, the only thing they seemed to thoroughly enjoy out of the whole visit was the dessertI will say though that La Scala does know how to advertise for sure because it looked much better online that what was experienced which is unfortunate

We loved this place. I had the Cajun pasta and thought it was great. My wife had the risotto with chicken and our daughter had the salmon salad. The brie appetizer was wonderful. Our sever shay was outstanding. We will be back. Thanks for a great evening. Lots of gluten free options which was appreciated.

Nice place and great decor. Not a typical Italian (American based) restaurant which is good.Service was great, ours was a large group and two staff members did everything possible to make and feel comfortable. Both of them were so professional and they brought in food and the check with no issues or mistakes which is so amazing. Nice jobon the other hand from the food, Dinner roll was not that great, hard and rock solid, seems like a microwaved roll. Soup was so bad, everyone in our group felt that why did we order the soup. Generally soup is suppose to be either hot or warm, but this was cold, basically the soup settled down like a pudding.Main course was ok, not that great.

For the region, La Scala is one of the best Italian restaurants (has a lot of American influences). I love the tomato soup and the tiramisu. The servers are nice and helpful.

OMG one of the best pasta dishes I've ever had!! Highly, highly recommend the bolognese but beware it's pretty heavy! Besides the food, the service was great; very quick and the waitress was patient and friendly! Will be coming back asap :)

Ummm...so I got the Pasta Fresca with chicken because I wanted something simple. I make a dish at home with raw tomatoes and fresh herbs so I expected that, only better from a restaurant at $18.00. I feel very certain that I got noodles topped with a can of peeled Roma tomatoes and maybe freshly made chicken. It looked and tasted *exactly* like that. That's not exactly a bad flavor, but for the price I paid it's outrageous. The service and ambiance (the room right inside the patio) was excellent. I will definitely go again and get something more complicated. Maybe they focus on those with family recipes or something, and my dish is just a throwaway for them. But $18?
