The food is good here.
The service just depends on the server.
Elias is pretty slow and disappears for long periods of time.
There are no prices on the menu for the different margaritas.
The prices that he told us they would cost was way lower than what the bill came as!!!!
The atmosphere here is really good.
Just be aware what you are charged....we were definitely overcharged.

I ordered a steak taco and steak burrito dinner just now. The steak was extremely salty and chewy. We ordered takeout / to go. I called the restaurant back to let them know, and they 1st answered listened to my complaint and them proceeded as if they couldn't hear me and disconnected the call. I called back immediately and they answered and never spoke. I repeatedly said "Hello?" and they never replied and disconnected the call. Needless to say, we will never order here again. We love La Caretta in Schererville and we were hopeful that this location would provide equally great service. I'm so disappointed. Order with caution.

This USED to be my favourite restaurant . I came here all of the time. It's been a good three months since I've been here, and I was very excited...SUCH A DISAPPOINTMENT! Unfortunately the excitement went away very quickly… We ordered regular margaritas on the rocks with salt on the rim. The margaritas here used to be amazing now they taste like a tin can. I thought maybe if I ask for a Cadillac version it would be better and it was worse! we ordered food to go and when I got home the flautas were soggy and gross, The Carnada steak was extremely small, the rice was dry and the beans were disgusting! The quality of their margaritas and their food has just went downhill. I don't think I will be coming back anytime soon ? SO SAD

My first time here at La Carreta. I’m going to say that the quality of the food is good. I order a Taco loco Combo. The flavor of the Carne Asada was delicious and the Chorizo as well. The Carnitas need more flavor. The corn tortillas were amazing you can taste that are made in the tortillería no from package. On the rice flavor is good but on the refried Beans would be better if were refried with Lard not with Oil. But other that Food is really good and service.

You go online to check the menu & prices, call it in & ask for the total & it's almost $10 more than what you see online. I asked the gentleman why is the prices different he said it went up but the online prices didn't...(So as a customer you get what you see online). Your a business that does very well off & you don't change your online prices so customers would know what they are paying for. Especially if your on a budget or not, I guess the customer is always right is not the case anymore you charge what you want to charge. DON'T ORDER FROM THE ONLINE MENU YOU WILL BE OVERCHARGED SMH
