Horrible service we were never asked for refills so we were dying of thirst and our server didn’t come back to the table at all only to give us the check I will not be coming back to this location

This definitely has the be the WORST Longhorn in the Midwest, this was my 2nd visit, and it was just like the first if not worse. Management rude playing and holding long personal conversations with the wait staff, the meal was so horrible I fed them to my dogs. Waste of money and time. SEEK ANOTHER LONGHORN, DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS ESTABLISHMENT.

Took them 25 min to seat 9 people at 3:30pm, place was practically empty. Then we finally sat down and we were able to order food and drinks at the same time! Says a lot about the service. Then took about 20 min to get a glass of water so we are about 50 min in now, haven’t even seen a appetizer

The food wasn’t hot it was warm like if it was sitting in the kitchen for a while service was bad they sat us down and it took forever for someone to attend us this location has been declining lately like it’s always okay never great also the silverware is always dirty I always have to ask for some that’s clean and this is all the time i go it’s always dirty

Been coming to Longhorn Steakhouse for years, usually everything is great, went there tonight, waited over an hour after being seated to get our food, the service was terrible, the food was horrible, ended up just paying the bill and taking the food home, wasted over $100 there, will never be going back

So disappointed was looking forward to steak 😞 kept getting put on hold 😕 called back several times gave up called Sophia's in merriville got my order in no issues 😀 fast was delicious 😋 will go back to Sophia's again

The food was ok but the service was the worst I've experienced ever at ANY restaurant. We were seated , after 10 minutes our server greeted us and we ordered. We didn't have any silverware and told her. We waited another 10 minutes and out appetizer arrived. Still no silverware or plates. We reminded her and two other people. Finally, we got silverware. No plates yet! We reminded our server and she informed us that all the plates were being used and none were available. Trying to be patient, I waited. Finally having enough, I approached the manager and described the situation. The manager searched and eventually found us some plates. I informed her that I wasn't going to eat my appetizer cold, it had been sitting there 10 minutes with no plates. She offered to replace them. In another 10 mins, our salads and steaks arrived before our appetizer.
My wife and I continued eating, curious to see what if any consideration would be given us for our terrible experience. Not only did nobody seemed concerned with our terrible service and try to honestly explain , they didn't even give us any consideration on the bill
I was so upset that I only tipped $10 on an $88 bill
I always tip a minimum of 20% for adequate service up to 25 or 30% for good service. The tip isn't given for nothing, it actually has to be earned.
Systemic failure by entire staff. No concern for us as customers. I expect to hear from manager on this review or I'll never go back. I loved this place before. Well see if anybody cares enough to reach out to us.

Hostess was RUDE and very UNORGANIZED!

If I didn't like the food so much, I would have walked right out.

I walked into the Longhorn restaurant in Merriville, IN, and the hostess (an older woman, wearing a black & green blouse
on 11/9/24 at approximately 1 pm in the afternoon) was as RUDE as a person could be.

The restaurant was very busy and she seemed to be disturbed by this. She kept trying to detour people by telling them that wait times were longer than they actually were. When she noticed I wasn't going to leave, she told me and my guest to just have a seat. She didn't take my name down, so I asked if she was going to. So, at this point, she asked for my name but did not type or write anything down.
I didn't push the issue because it was clear she was having a bad day.
However, I did monitor the order in which people were arriving because I noticed that this hostess was not.

When a table opened up, she would call people out of order and customers had to tell her who was next.

My goodness!

Once we got past this debacle, things ran much more smoothly in terms of the server and cooks.

Parking: I noticed that there were many take out spots in front of the restaurant that were not utilized. This area, in my opinion, should be dedicated to seniors and disabled persons.

The restaurant may not realize this, but there are many disabled people that come to eat there, so it only makes sense. Designating just four or five spots on the side of the restaurant away from the entrance is not very accommodating to senior citizens or disabled persons.
