I was in the area for a work assignment, and I had the great opportunity to visit Hammers in Michigan City. It was a busy Saturday night, but we were greeted by a very lovely hostess as well as the owner, Sheri. The atmosphere is lovely; the bar area was warm and inviting and there was a great space outside for people to gather and eat. Great place to eat. I could critique the appetizers being kinda expensive for what you get or how they are cooked but honestly it's some of the best food I've eaten out lately. Pizza was tasty and lots of cheese, service was great.
We are not from the area but stopped in for lunch 8/24 because we were nearby and on our way home from Michigan. The Baked French Onion soup was amazing. My husband had lasagna which he loved! My son had spaghetti and meatballs…delicious! The meatballs were huge and really good! I had a beef sandwich which came on a garlic ciabatta bread and was really good.
