My wife and I stopped by The Ferguson House to have a drink and some lunch this beautiful day. The atmosphere is really nice. We walked in at 11:45am and the front porch had two couples sitting at it. After 15 minutes I went in to order our drinks. I ordered a Bloody Mary and my wife a lemonade. The bartender who saw we had been waiting for a while offered the drinks for free but I refused, paid, left a tip then went to sit back down. At 12:10pm, after 25 minutes, our server finally appeared to offer us water. At this point we decided not to eat as we had little hope anyone would ever come back. The bartender did come out to check on us and offer us menus which we politely declined. She was super nice. This review is really just based on a complete lack of awareness by the staff as a sever passed us four times in this 25 minute span and could see the other server had never been by.
Our first experience at Ferguson House won’t be our last. The staff was incredibly attentive to us and our children, and helpful with our menu selections. The food was freshly made from scratch that day, and absolutely perfect. A+ location and outdoor seating as well.
Amazing meal with lots of options for dietary restrictions (alpha gal, gluten free, dairy free, vegan). Cute atmosphere with lots of gorgeous art from a local artist. And, finally, incredible friendly service from Ben the server! The kombucha, pot roast, street tacos, and vegan chocolate mousse are all delicious!
Some of the best food we've had in brown county consistently. Upscale comfort food in a relaxed environment. Wonderful patio if the weather is nice, lovely spaces inside also. Very welcoming with friendly service.
Very much our go to spot
Modern, contemporary, rustic, and quaint, all wrapped into a historic house in a historic town with beautiful art all around. Menu is full of wonderful dishes that can please just about anyone.
If you're visiting Nashville, don't miss out on this hidden gem. The atmosphere of on old farm house with the service of southern hospitality. The menu is posted outside the restaurant and online to see if they're within your price range and tastes. They have an amazing seasonal specials and cocktail menu. The Apple Cider Mojito was refreshing. We ordered the Shrimp and Grits and Lamb Chops- which came with sides and choice of soup or salad. The Seafood Chowder was great with real chunks of seafood and a flavorful broth. The meals were both tasty and cooked to perfection. We also appreciated that their kids menu offerings are similar to their adult offerings like steak bites and a kids size shrimp and grits at a reasonable price. We finished the meal with a cheesecake flight with Almond Joy, Butterfinger, and Cherry Lime. While they were all delicious, we recommend the Butterfinger one if you enjoy a full flavor cheesecake. We dined on a Thursday evening so it wasn't super crowded but reservations would be recommended any other time.
This place clearly depends on tourism. Very disappointing. Ordered the $30 Thai peanut tofu bowl, which came with Brussels sprouts. The dish itself which should’ve been stir fried was mushy, tasteless, and likely microwaved with no trace of a peanut sauce, or peanuts at all for that matter. The tofu was not cooked, and the side of Brussels sprouts were soggy- either boiled, steamed, or microwaved (when they should’ve been roasted) with nothing on them but a balsamic reduction. The reviews are misleading here, which is how we made the decision to have dinner there. I do not recommend this overpriced tourist trap.
Delicious food and exceptional service!!
Very disappointed. Three of us had the Bistro Burger which was odd - edible, but not good. My husband had the ribeye sandwich which was not edible. Grisly overcooked meat. He could even find pieces of meat to pick out of the sandwich. We will NOT be back.
Staff was awesome! Food was very good! The bacon jam on the burger was very tasty!
I highly recommend this place if you’re in town!

I went to Indiana, and my cousin recommended visiting Brown County. Was strolling around and saw people lining up, and it made us curious. We ordered tomato soup, salad and organic beef burger and their nachos. It was soooo good!! The best soup I ever had. Service is good except that we waited 40 mins to be seated. I guess they were under staff that day.
3rd time eating at the Ferguson House Bistro. Food was fantastic and so was the service. HIGHLY recommend!
15 nov 24. Been here before, was very good, service was great for small atmosphere. What happened? Last time for me. Customer next to me ordered the salmon. Complained it had bones in it after eating all meat. Yes it's fish, has bones. Management threw themselves at this customer, gave free meal, a salad and slice of pie to go. Ok. Thier choice, I'm ok with that. I ordered steak, asked no asparagus on my plate, I detest it so much. Yup, came out, had a mound of asparagus right up against steak. I asked the gentleman bringing out our food why that was there, I specifically asked for no asparagus on my plate and was assured it would not be on there. Instead of an apology from anyone, the server went into it wasn't me, I told them not to put it on plate, must be guys in the back. Manager came out and asked server what issue was, same was told to her. Boom. Thats it. Not a single word to me. She fell all over the bones in fish. Not a word or even a look to me. Server, disappeared like a fart in the wind. Nothing. I had to wait almost 10 minutes to ask for steak sauce. No one asked if my steak was OK. The potatoes, mashed garlic. Wallpaper paste. So much garlic I could not eat. Steak was good. Ordered another drink, never came. But I was charged for it. Had to explain to server I never received it. He did remove the charge. Shrimp add on was 5 dollars on menu, was charged 6 dollars on bill. Come on. I never write reviews, I held my tongue in restaurant. But for all things Holy, if your customer had an issue, at least ask them about it. I'm not out for a freebies, I can afford it. But ask me about my service. I will come back if you showed you care. But lack of care, I will go elsewhere.
Service was excellent. Alpha Gal friendly menu options
