Great place for breakfast and bloody Mary's to start the day of shopping off right. Both meat and vegan options. Also a great selection of coffee and chai lattes.

Bird nest is a great name for this location. It's nestled off the street very convenient courtyard. The food was delicious. My wife commented on the pancakes being the best besides homemade. I tried the sink. It has bacon gravy, which brings an interesting taste to the dish. The service was OK as it is a town in Nashville so have an expectation different.

Bacon gravy was NOT GOOD. Not like normal gravy and weird taste. Tequila sunrise and mimosas were delicious. Service was decent. Cute little place.

Food was good, the lattes were foamy, and the service was great. This restaurant is a staple for me when I come to Nashville. The vibe is laid back and so are the prime. They have limited vegan options but they are not an afterthought so that's nice as well.

My best friend flew in for a girls' weekend on the coldest day in recent memory, and top on our list was to eat here. We were SO glad we went! My friend is mostly vegetarian but will eat some fish, and she was very impressed by the menu's many vegan and vegetarian options. We both ordered the salmon patty and fried green tomato eggs Benedict. Hands-down our favorite dining experience during our 48 hours, and we ate at some of the best restaurants in nearby Bloomington! I loved it so much that I'm taking my daughter this weekend and my mom is driving two hours to meet us so I can treat her to the best meal in town in the cutest place!

This is a great local business to support! I've only ever been there on Saturdays and I will say it's best to make a reservation that's for sure. It's always busy and so it is a little bit loud, but it's a good vibe. I've tried a couple of their different breakfasts, and it's hard to choose a favorite. But I would say the bad hombre or the midwestern one I forget it's official name. Also the mimosas are great they pour generously Plus you get to enjoy downtown after!

Nashville, Indiana is a hidden gem in the state. Known for arts and crafts community, Nashville has also become a foodies delight. The Bird's Nest Cafe used to be a retail store that sold home decorations but was turned in to a cafe a few years ago. They focus on scratch made foods, with a twist sometimes. Everything I have ever tried there has been great! When you walk up to where the cafe is, you'll find a garden. Not a vegetable garden but a nice cottage garden. Walk under a trellis and no a path that curves around tables where you can sit when the weather is nice. Once you reach the front door and walk in, you are greeted with a nice homey feel. The staff at the Bird's Nest is great! They are nice, warm, and friendly. The cafe is actually an old home, which is typical for a lot of places in Nashville. It has a a worn with love wood floor, thick walls, and feel of home. The Bird's Nest has a simple menu. Their menu also changes seasonly. So, what I am writing about may not be on the menu during the winter. That is to say it is well rounded and not overwhelming. All of the selections sound and look delicious! I am going to review the Green Tomato BLT and the Blueberry Lemon Griddlecakes. I am going to venture to say that green tomatoes are not a big thing in Indiana. Not to say that no one knows what they are. I am sure everyone does, but the Bird's Nest is the only place I have ever seen a green tomato BLT. Toasted bread, crisp lettuce, thick, well-cooked bacon, topped with fried green tomatoes... yum! They slather a layer of homemade pesto mayo on the bread to top it all off. The sandwich is served with your choice of "Joe's" chips, slaw, or fruit. I have the fried green tomato BLT on a regular basis when I am in Nashville. I only live an hour and a half away, so that is quite often! One time I was driving through in the morning, on a business trip so I had to stop. I also stopped at the Nashvile Spice shop to see my friends and grab some salami, artisan cheese, and crackers for dinner that evening. I noticed this meal called Blueberry Lemon Griddlecakes, and just had to try them. For those of you who might be wondering what in the world is a griddlecake, think pancake but much better. Griddlecakes are usually made with whole grain flour which imparts a nice flavor. Add blueberries, and a hint of lemon and you have blueberry lemon griddle cakes. The griddle cakes are served with local Fisher Farms bacon, which is some of the best bacon I have had, and I have consumed a lot of bacon in my life time! The griddlecakes are served on a plate with a bluebery compote and lemon drizzle. No butter is needed! They are fluffy, full of flavor, and very filling. They are now my go to for breakfast when I am in Nashville of a morning. I can't say enough about the Bird's Nest Cafe, though reading this review might make you think otherwise... lol. Please go try the Bird's Nest Cafe the next time you are in Nashville. Spring, summer, and fall are busy times for the town, but don't forget winter. Yes, some of the stores are closed for the winter but Nashville takes on this slow, peaceful, vibe in the winter and is magical. They can get busy so make reservations or be prepare to wait a while. Though, things do slow down in the winter. Be sure to check out their website to make sure they are openon the day you will be in town. Winter hours can and do vary.

They had amazing food, service, and drinks. Small cozy spaces in a historic home. We went to the bar area two times in one weekend.

Very cute cafe for lunch/brunch in downtown Nashville. Service was great. Food was good. The rosemary fries are thin, crispy, and delicious. The turkey sandwich was good, but the turkey had a weird sort of chemical, charcoal taste -- like maybe there was a lot of already-burnt-on stuff on the cooking surface. It didn't stop me from eating the entire sandwich, but when I ate the turkey on its own that had fallen out of the sandwich, there was a slightly unpleasant taste to it. If you're short like me (5'3"), avoid the wooden booths. The seats are very high. My feet couldn't touch the ground, so the wooden edge was digging into the back of my thigh.

Great restaurant, very busy. Highly suggest a reservation if you can. Very nice sitting outdoors as well and they are pet friendly outside as well.

Great food and very nice seating areas. The staff are very friendly and good at their jobs. Love the vegetarian options and they have the best pancakes.

We never made it inside. After being told 40-50 mins for the wait we finally had to walk away from our reservation after 1 hour and 45 mins waiting outside in the cold. I remained on the wait list to see how long it would actually take to get our table. We checked in at 9:20 and our name was called at 11:26

The ambiance of the Bird's Nest is 6 stars! It is so cute, fun looking and full of energy. We were very excited to get here and try it out (hint - call or use toast for a reservation - you may have a couple hour wait without one!)We arrived without a reservation a little before 11 on a Saturday and had a 90 minute wait. That's okay, we were able to shop around and watch the site to see our place in line. When we got seated though, it was 15 minutes for our server to show, we ordered - 15 more minutes for the drinks to arrive and another 30 for the food. So an hour waiting after being seated . My wife ordered the vegan hash. After she ordered she was told they were out of quinoa- a main ingredient. She had it anyway. It came with the potatoes not being cooked through. To fix it, the microwaved the heck out of it - the potatoes were still not all the way cooked, but enough to eat. And the rest of the food was then dried out. That was unfortunate. My son said his meal was so covered in gravy, he couldn't taste anything else. I think I'd go back and hope it was a fluke.

Good food. Good service. Unique and interesting decoration. I especially like the soups.
