Very welcoming. Food very good with great selection. Excellent wines but over priced Music Wednesday nights

First time here, food was very good and service was outstanding. However we did try to order meatballs with the pasta dish and was told they didn't have meatballs. That seems odd for an Italian restaurant. We will go back

Family owned restaurant that uses family recipes to provide delicious Italian dishes. Wonderful servers who enjoy what they are doing. Relaxed atmosphere with tablecloth service.

Our absolute favorite local Italian restaurant, hands down! You feel transported to Italy, the food and service are exceptional! We had the calamari, caprese, and cheese tortellini. SO, so good! And, it's a detail but iit's important. The wine glasses are perfect, you'll see what I mean 😁🍷🥂

Amazing food. We had chicken Parmesan’s chicken and sauce was amazing. Pasta was overcooked. But the rest made up for it.

We always enjoy the food, ambiance, and service at Matteos. No fault of theirs but were seated next to a rather energetic (loud) booth to the point that we had difficulty hearing each other at our booth. It happens....

It was our first time here tonight and it was incredible! The way to our heart at a restaurant is the service and we loved our server Tami! All of the staff were great. I had the linguine frutti di mare and it was so good! The scallops in it were perfect. We also loved the calamari and panna cotta! Thank you Matteo’s! We can’t wait to come back!

My wife and I dined on a Saturday night at 6:00. While we had a reservation, it had been made for outside, which was not an option due to the weather. They arranged a table for 2 to the left of the host stand that was separated by a divider wall from the majority of tables on that side of the room.

We ordered Fritto Misto Italiano [$13.95 - 5 cheese ravioli and 5 Panzerotti (potato croquettes)], Penne Alla Ortolana [$23.50 - penne pasta Portobello mushrooms, onions, spinach, roasted red bell peppers, asparagus and white wine, tomato cream sauce] and Salmon Limone [$26.95 - Salmon, white wine-lemon sauce with capers, linguine pasta]:

PROS:
-our server, Raiven, was excellent in her frequency of tending to our table and doing so in a personable manner
-flavors of Ortolana dish, tomato cream sauce in particular, were very good
-salmon was a decent portion size and well prepared
-white wine-lemon sauce was very good (it is a strong lemon flavor if that is a turn off for you)

MIDS:
-Panzerotti were interesting with their crunchy exterior and soft, fluffy potato interior, but felt they needed another note like cheese

CONS:
-ravioli seemed very much like the frozen variety one would get at the grocery
-while flavors of Ortolana were good, the dish itself seemed lacking in the quantity of advertised ingredients as the use of plurality for some of them seemed to be an exaggeration
-penne and linguine were fine, but seemed like they were boxed as opposed to hand-made and the portions were somewhat stingy in quantity
-atmosphere in the dining area is lacking as it is a cavernous space that amplifies the noise of larger parties from across the room and is decorated with an eclectic mix of art work on the walls

?s:
-we had hoped to dine outside, but weather had prevented that, so perhaps that would have been an improvement to the dining room
-there are 2 smaller areas in the front window areas with tables that might have been a better option if dining inside

So based on all of that, it wasn't horrible, but it was just OK, which doesn't match up with the menu prices. We probably won't return as there are too many dependable options available that we prefer.

I really love the vibe of this restaurant. The service is amazing- some of the best I’ve ever experienced. With the price of the food and the ambiance, I expect some fine Italian dining. Being from the East Coast, Italian food is my first choice! I ordered the Vitello Piccata and it was so disappointing. Just not good… the sauce tasted like something that came out of a can. The shrimp cocktail app was nothing special. The bread and their oil is very good. The wine we had was great but also with that price, the food should be able to match it. Our food came out super fast and the staff was excellent. I just hate to pay top dollar for something that’s not. If you’re expecting that, I wouldn’t come here.

Absolutely horrible, and slow service. We were seated at 6:30 PM and we didn’t get our food till 8 PM. Mind you we had a little kids with us that were three and seven that obviously needed to be fed. The server did not come unless we called him. I ordered a glass of Chianti the first time and it was really good and I asked for a refill and the second time it came. It didn’t taste the same so I asked my husband and my father to taste it and they also agreed that they didn’t taste the same as first time And we sent it back and the server bought us a third glass of wine without us asking for a third glass of wine. When we got the bill, we were charged for a third glass of wine and when we asked, one server came and said that because we tasted it, we were supposed to play for the entire glass of wine cause we drank it. It seems absolutely unreasonable for that to happen. I am not a wine expert but I do know when something doesn’t taste the same little two minutes after I had the first glass. The server was unprofessional and rude. The server was out for a fight. It was evident! Never asked for a third class. The server just bought it out. It was not our server either. We barely saw our server. This place is not worth the time nor the money to go here there’s plenty of other places that you could go to Mateo‘s is not the one.

I also forgot to mention the most important thing which was we were there to celebrate my mother’s 72nd birthday. Totally not.Ok. I
