“I've been able to check out this restaurant twice in the last 2 weeks, and both times were extraordinary. The waiters are attentive and kind. It has a welcoming, comfortable atmosphere, and it's spotless every time. The food is so mouth-watering delicious that it makes you crave coming back before you even leave. I have gone to the lunch buffet both times, and each time, the food bar is clean, filled, and has a great selection to choose from. The chicken Tikka Masala is my favorite, and each time, the meat and sauce have been cooked to perfection. The Naan bread is always cooked fresh and perfect with any meal. We did have a slight issue with a my card being ran for a slightly different amount, but the gentleman running the place, automatically came out and fixed the issue, refunded me and even automatically went to fix the issue with their machine. This is a place that I will continue to go to in the future quite frequently while in the Terre Haute area. If you want true Indian food and to be able to experience a large selection of items at an amazing price, then this is definitely a place worth stopping at.Vegetarian options: Large selection for vegetarians.Parking: There is plenty of parking all around the restaurant.Wheelchair accessibility: They do have a ramp inside of the front door to cross so easy wheelchair accessibility to the seating areas.”

“I dined with a party of five. The service was terrific. We were never rushed. My steak was cooked to my specifications. All the sides were delicious. I was disappointed that escargot is no longer available. Nevertheless, I enjoyed their French onion soup as my appetizer; it was terrific....very hot and delicious. I have enjoyed eating at J. Ford's many times and I will definitely return.”

“Homemade pasta was excellent! I had the veal piccata and my husband had the pasta bolognese. Drinks were good. Desserts looked too good to pass up so we took them home. Lovely atmosphere. We were there late afternoon so it wasn't busy but I'm sure it is later.”

“Wonderful, small little ice cream shop with a ton of flavor options! If you are around the area, stop in and check it out! I had the cappuccino crunch, and husband went with low-fat blueberry cheesecake yogurt. They were both super good! Owner was also working and as kind as can be. We will be back if ever in the area.”

“Hands-down, literally the best small business for coffee around. I’m not a coffee drinker, but they have the best healthiest fruit smoothies. I get one every morning and sometimes even for lunch. And they are reasonably priced compared to someone else in town. And they always give my dog treats, it’s a daily stop for sure. I’ve actually lost 15 pounds within a couple months from drinking their healthy fruit smoothie every morning.”

“My wife and I were there last night for our 21st Anniversary. This was our first time here. Great service and great food. The Chefs Cut steak was a 32oz cowboy ribeye. Usually I’ll take part of my steak home with me but this steak was so good I couldn’t stop eating it. Can’t wait to return. I highly recommend the carrots and the bread.”

“My wife and I ended up going for singo, we enjoyed the open areas, the general happiness of the patrons, and the general cleanliness of this establishment. Food truck was in the lot, with easy access to the building, it happened to start storming halfway through the event I didn't mind the 5 foot walk to the food truck. The drinks are great, they had a range of beers for every taste and even some fruit wines for you sweet drinkers out there. Overall I would recommend anyone to go there, especially any members of a service branch. I'm sure there is plenty more character to explore. I will be back.”

“If you want to eat at a place that treats you like family, this is the place to be. The owner and her daughter were so friendly and chatted with us while we waited for our food and ate. The hustled our toddlers plate out so he could eat quickly, shared stories of their family, and asked about ours. We all left with full bellies and piled high to go boxes. I had the healthy bowl, my wife had the Gyro, and my son had noodles and red sauce. Everything was made from scratch and delicious!”

“My mom, my daughter and I stopped there to eat recently. My daughter is autistic and 5 years old. She doesn't understand personal boundaries and she makes alot of noise and talks alot. I was worried that she was going to be to much and we might have to cut our meal short. I was extremely thankful for the staff. That is the best my daughter has EVER been treated in ANY establishment EVER. The ladies were so kind to her and talked to her like they knew her all her life. They did not reprimand her or act like she was annoying them in any way. I can not give this place the rating that I would like to because they deserve a 100 out of 5 stars. Oh and the fries were to die for, best I've ever had.”

“J. Gumbos was a great place to stop to eat while we were on our roadtrip, passing through Terre Haute. It is a welcome respite to the chain restaurants that litter nearby US41 and fits in nicely with the downtown's vibe. Our portions were appropriate, prices were good and the food tasty.”

“This place is a hidden gem that could (unfortunately) be easily overlooked, due to the location. Do not make the mistake of passing it by...EVERYTHING was DELICIOUS! The menu is not large, but it doesn't have to be. The quality of the food more than makes up for the small selection, and the portions are very generous. The owner's husband was the sole employee working, and was both very gracious and enjoyable to have a conversation with as we enjoyed our meal.”

“Scout's has amazing pizza, and such a good atmosphere. They have the coolest "secret" back room, and it is such a good hangout spot. The staff is always super nice. The pizza comes out fast too! If you want pizza in Terre Haute, I definitely recommend Scout's!”
