“What a great find out in a small town!!! Walked in and it appeared to just be a local bar with a dozen tables. It was, but a great one! Bluegill fish fry was nice and light. Wings very nicely made...not overcooked, and the Junior pork cutlet was both huge and beautifully made. Everything was fresh and delicious. The other outstanding feature was the incredible friendliness of everyone working there as well as some of the good old boys at the bar. Seriously did not treat us like the out of towners we obviously were. I'd go back if in the area.”

“5 Stars well deserved!My husband and I were in vicinity of this winery on recent Sunday, so we made a stop. We were very nicely greeted and welcomed by the owner. We sampled 5 wines, we each picked a glass of our favorite and proceeded to the upper deck to enjoy it. We spent a good hour relaxing and since we had another 2 hours driving to Illinois we had to leave. We purchased a few bottles to take home.What I want to tell you is that Carpenter Creeck Winery has THE BEST WINES! The best testing wines! My husband and I visit many wineries and have been to wineries in Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin and Iowa and these are the best wines! The wine maker trully knows the art of making wine!The staff was very friendly, the inventory was very well displayed and simple to find the wines which we sampled.The only thing I would suggest is to "foo-foo" a bit the outside with few flowers, maybe even chickens or Peacoks LOL. But this is not a compalint at all, just a suggestion...”

“Let me start with, this is a truck stop. An old established one at that, so if the interior is a bit dated, but if you're hungry this is the place to go if you're in the area. Great food to order & they also have a buffet. Don't expect anything fancy, this more along comfort food scale. It's good food that's filling, that doesn't break your bank.Parking: Located in a truck stop, lots of parking is available.Kid-friendliness: They have a kid's menu, booster chairs, & high chairs.Wheelchair accessibility: Ground level with ramps to the entrance to the restaurant.”

“We stumbled upon this place looking for some food off the highway a bit as we were driving through heading back home, and we couldn't find anyone open a little later and we found out quickly that this was one of the best kept secrets in this area as there food excelled past most food I've had, from the burgers being well seasoned and cooked properly, by my standards, aka not a soggy mess... and with there southern chicken sandwich that was probably better then what I would expect from poppies or even chick fil a, with everything homemade and using some ingredients you don't normally see, like fried green tomatoes it created a unique taste combination that was truly a taste experience that will leave you making that detour worth your time many times over, as I know I'll definitely be back for more in the future!!Parking: There is parking on the side of the building”
