“Food was delicious, very clean and friendly, all around 10/10. I went in for one thing and walked out with an order of carne asada fries. Very delicious!!! Highly Recommended!”
“Our tour guide was absolutely wonderful and really made the experience great. Really neat things and he explained it all to us and really engaged with the kids. He was very knowledgeable about trains and you could tell he really liked them. Food at the restaurant was normal family diner food. They have trains that run up above you and they even have little animals and people in the train cars! There are also trains to look at outside. Highly recommend you check it out too!”
“First time trying this place. Had the chicken breast lunch platter with two sides. The chicken was amazing. It was huge, smoky, juicy, seasoned great!!!!!! Would defiantly recommend it. Might be going back to try the brisket tomorrow.”
“I stopped here to kill some time. The staff are super friendly and there is a real neighborhood vibe. I ordered a cold brew with oat milk and brown sugar syrup. Very smooth and tasty. There is ample seating but not much soft seating. Half the tables have folding metal chairs. There are bags of coffee, mugs and cups, and honey for sale. There is also a variety of loose leaf teas if that is your taste. And you can pick up your CBD products here! Nice friendly local vibe here.”
“Being a restaurant owner ourselves, we love to go to a place that really takes care of business. If you're looking for a place like that, Anglers is the place you want to go,! Great food, great atmosphere, great service. You can't ask for more!”
“What a lovely ice cream shoppe! There were so many unique flavors to choose from. The servers heard us debating our possible choices and offered to let us try samples of our top choices. They were so helpful and patient. The shoppe is very clean and has games and books for families. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Oh, and the ice cream is delicious! We will be back!”
“Do not pass on their nacho supreme it is one of the best I have ever had! And on top of that it’s my favorite ice cream place. Only thing is the amount of sitting for those outside days doesn’t really exist except a couple of benches.”
“There is a rather inappropriate piece of a picture on the wall paper by the door right at a child’s eye sight level. Unfortunately while looking at the cute dog next to this boy, my daughter noticed this. ? she is 7… I understand the picture, but the detail might be unnecessary.. ??Otherwise the staff was friendly, the atmosphere is laid back and comfortable and the food was yummy. My daughter loves the shrimp rolls and the veggie rolls are delicious. Also the vegetable Tempura is good!”
“My sister and I decided to stop for lunch. Ordered a 14 in cheese pizza, thin crust. It was absolutely delicious! The crust was nice and crunchy, but not burnt. Priced right. I believe Shirley was our waitress. Such a sweetheart. Abe's was also very well kept. I'll definitely stop in again when I'm in the area. ❤️❤️”
“Best place in Monticello for ice cream! Was happy to see they also have food items other than ice cream…. a must try if you live at or are visiting lake Shafer or Freeman !!!!”
“We wanted to try a place for our family date with our 2 younger aged kids (younger than 10). They loved the food and cleaned their plates (which is unusual for them) and we also enjoyed our food tremendously. The look of the place is a little worn down and we should have ordered our bacon crispier but no big complaints.Kid-friendliness: They brought color pages and crayons. Then they brought suckers and stickers. There's also a small arcade.”
“I love eating here, they have a lot of options and I really like the ice cream especially. I love to go here with my boyfriend in the summer time. Also kind employees.”
“Great small business. Gotten donuts from them a few times and have always tasted great. Not as friendly as I imagined the first time but pretty friendly since. Don't ignore all the signs that say cash only though!”
“I was passing through town and looking for a breakfast place to stop with family. The food and service was great (I forget the name of my server, but she was attentive and made sure we all had a great experience). One person had the tenderloin. I personally don't like tenderloin, but even I thought it looked good because it wasn't overly fried. If you want a lot of breading and grease, it's probably not for you, but if you like a balance between the breading and the meat, you would probably enjoy it. I got a classic breakfast with egg whites, hash browns, and toast. It's nothing fancy, but it was cooked well and tasted good, and the prices were fair. All of us enjoyed our food, and whenever I am in town during breakfast this would be where I would stop.”
“We loved our stop here! We were driving through town and stopped here on a whim for a lighter lunch and a unique experience. This place did not disappoint! My husband discovered his new favorite sandwich and my grandma was thrilled with the soup. The staff were super friendly and answered all of our questions graciously. Definitely worth the stop!”
“My family and I ate here today and it was great! I like the different drinks they have available, the dirty dr pepper was good. I got the tenderloin and enjoyed it. They have great service too! We will definitely be coming back again. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”
“the updates are amazing! so clean and inviting and open to new and old crowds. not only is it a cheap place to get drinks but they also have pool/darts/touch tunes/bands etc. great place!!”
“This is hands down the best restaurant in Monticello! The restaurant atmosphere is great! Service is awesome! And the food is AMAZING! If you want to have a good time and have a fully belly of great food , I would definitely recommend you look no where else and drive here ASAP!”
“I just had a chance to stop in for a bite to eat during my lunch hour. It was Taco Tuesday as the sale was $1.50 a taco. I ended up getting 3 of them and with my drink, ended up being less the $5 for a pretty damn good meal! Very impressed, and when I'm back in the area, I'll stop back in for sure!”
“As I have discovered the small town of Francesville due to working at the school, I had to find some lunch spots. The first one I had to try is this burger, hot dog, gyro, Italian Beef spot. I walked in and I noticed fresh-brewed sweet tea, which is a rare occurrence in the Midwest. The lady asked where I was from and I told her Alabama! She told me she lived in Alabama and her husband has family in Alabama. But enough about that, you are here to read about food. I went with the Sloppy Slaw Burger with fries and a sweet tea. This was a fresh and well-made hamburger patty! But what stood out on the burger for me was the chili. The chili had a lots of flavor and a sweet taste! The burger also had mustard and slaw on it to even it out. My fries were cooked hot and fresh! They do sell sauce to dip fries in. I did ask about the BBQ sauce and the lady did share it was not made in house. My sweet tea was satisfactory....for Indiana but would have been weak anywhere south of the Ohio River. Overall, fresh homemade burgers with hot fries ... Clyde's is a not only a good but terrific lunch spot in Francesville.”
“The menu changes daily. All the food is made either in house or locally sourced! Very reasonably priced. Very friendly staff. Call ahead, get it to go or eat here!”
“The Boathouse went above and beyond. We were having a party and ordered pizzas for 1pm. I did not realize they didn't start pizza takeout till 4pm. They said no problem we can do that for you to pick up at 1pm. They are always accommodating and love their pizza.”
“Great variety of great food! Food is always hot and out quickly. Staff is very friendly and helpful! My favorite place to eat lunch when I am working in Monticello!”
“My kids and I love this bakery store!!! Takes us back when we were kids. My daughter is autistic and this place is the only one where I can find the fill in cream cheese bread? that she likes. Hope they are here for a very long time bc I don’t feel like driving all the way to chicago to find this type of bread . Freshly made”
“Food was decent. Nothing spectacular but nothing offensive either. The burger bun was lightly and perfectly toasted, so if the mushroom swiss burger had a bit of caramelized onion it, I would've given it an extra star. In general, service was great and folks were friendly. It was quiet and pleasant.”
“I love what Rudy & Salina have done with this local landmark. From the HUGE patio with outdoor stage & mechanical bull, to the awesome sound system for Sunday night karaoke, they have really made, what was once just a bar, into a really cool club.Kid-friendliness: Not for kids 21+”
“Honestly, 10/10. Cute little brewery we've driven past a couple times while on vacation and decided to stop in. Good drinks. Good bartenders. Clean bathroom. What more could a girl want. Special bonus for having metazoa beers cheaper than what I could get at metazoa. Sure it was a can instead of draft but that's still a HUGE WIN.”
“First time ordering from Rods even though I live in town. Pizza was great and I love the fact that if you didn't eat the cheese pizza before the cheese got cold, if you lift a slice up you lift the cardboard too. Thought that was funny when I shared the slices with my coworkers I do wish, however, if the hours were a little earlier. I was told it's a family owned restaurant an you didn't open till 4-4:30? Sometimes I'm craving pizza at the end of my shift at 2 and I find that sucky- however I'm patient enough to wait till yall open”
“Smokey and welcoming dive bar complete with charming regulars, excellent bartender, dim lights, good drink prices, darts, two pool tables, and a wicked fun karaoke night on Thursdays.”
“The next best deep dish pizza award goes to the Monon Pub and Grill. It is even superior to Giorodanos! If you haven’t tried it yet you’re definitely missing out!!!”
