919 N Main St, MonticelloMy kids love this place! They have so many flavors of soft serve ice cream to choose from and even more toppings and syrups and sauces for the ice cream! They make good milkshakes as well! The ice cream in a cup is priced by weight and they weigh your cup at the check out to determine what you owe. It is pretty expensive for ice cream here. They also have a freezer with little cups of different varieties of ice cream for $1 and $2 to take home with you for later or they have kitty cups and pup cups which are vanilla ice cream and are their safest recipe for pets. They do have a loyalty program where you get a punch card and for each item you purchase you get a punch and when you get 10 punches you get $5 off your next order. Their milkshakes are a set price but you can choose what flavor ice cream and you can add whatever syrups/sauces and whatever toppings you want to them.

Rugies Dugout
1210 N 6th St, MonticelloOur family wanted pizza, and we were directed to this establishment. The food took about 30 minutes, and came out piping hot. The waitress was attentive, but seem to be a bit annoyed by the fact that she had customers to wait on. Regarding the pizza, it is a thicker style crust, which we happen to like, however, it is covered with TOO MUCH CHEESE. The sauce is thin and somewhat bland, and we thought that the cheese obscured the flavors of the specially pizzas that we purchased (meat lovers and the Hawaiian special). The atmosphere is like a garage with terribly annoying chairs that grade along the floor and make it difficult to hear. This place must’ve been a garage first and then was converted into a restaurant later. There are other restaurants, but not many in the immediate vicinity. This place is not bad, it just is not great when it comes to pizza. Other items on the list may be fantastic, and we wish them the best.

1828 N Francis St, MonticelloWe were in town after being at the park all day, and needed a place to eat later in the night with kids. Called and asked if they could accommodate our party of 13 only about 45 min before they closed and they said absolutely. We had the best service ever! The staff was so accommodating for our little ones 3rd bday; they all came out to sing him happy bday and even did a “bday shot” with him lol it was so cute and special! The food was delicious and very fairly priced. Caribbean chicken & shrimp, potato skins & hush puppies were highlights. Drinks were delicious and they even crafted a special drink for me. Will definitely return when we’re in town. We were so grateful for their warm service and awesome hospitality!

An Udder Sensation
138 S Main St, MonticelloWhat a lovely ice cream shoppe! There were so many unique flavors to choose from. The servers heard us debating our possible choices and offered to let us try samples of our top choices. They were so helpful and patient. The shoppe is very clean and has games and books for families. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Oh, and the ice cream is delicious! We will be back!

1515 N Main St, MonticelloWe are new to the area and had heard this was a great place for breakfast. We went in kinda late in the morning and it was busy but we got a table very quickly and the service was friendly and helpful with our questions. We all ended up ordering breakfast, and it was quite delicious. Neither of us ordered similar dishes and our food came out quickly and all at the same time. The only negative thing I could really point out is that the full order of French toast consists of only 2 small slices and was a bit of a disappointment because most places I get French toast a full order is usually 3 to 4 slices but otherwise food and service was great and prices are pretty reasonable. The atmosphere was friendly and inviting as well as clean. We will definitely be back to try other things.Kid-friendliness: Definitely a family friendly place.

Recommendations....bring back the fun "bucket" and hydraulic chairs!

12195 US-421, MonticelloWell I work at the scoreboard but my ratings would be the same either way work or not. But I love the food there, I love the look inside and outside of the scoreboard and the service is great not because im a server but because I see it with my own eyes with my coworkers their great servers and bartenders. The kitchen gets the food out at a reasonable time and when their busy they work even harder to get the food out as soon as possible and looking tasty and fresh

Today 11/21/22 at 10:14am I paid $8.00 for a plain grande Americano- which tasted like hot water and a talk cappuccino with no caramel sauce which I paid extra. I love Starbucks and I don’t mind the wait- they were not busy at that time. But, to go back after my coffee has cooled and complain, I don’t have time to do this. Very frustrating.
