“Went there this evening for my daughter’s 14th birthday dinner. We specifically chose Casedores because I thought it would be so fun to have the staff sing and bring out a sombrero for her. We made reservations, invited grandparents and told our waitress it was her birthday. Waiting on one persons food while others ate and water refills after we were all done with our meal is besides the point. The waitress did ask what dessert she wanted so I got out my phone to video them singing. The waitress brought her dessert out and I asked her, oh do you sing anymore? Her response “yes we do but we’re busy” What a punch in the gut for my daughter. It probably would have taken less than 3 minutes to sing and make a teenager’s evening. So if they read this, no matter how busy you are sing and make someone’s day a little more special. It’s not about the free dessert you get it’s the experience.“

“Every Sunday we go. It's a great end to every week. Sleep in and go to Esmeraldas is a really solid weekly plan. If you ask for 4 eggs they will give you 8. Mic drop.“

“Agave Azul is one of those places I have driven by so many times, yet I hadn't ever stopped to check it out. That is, until today.
My mother and I stopped here for lunch at 2:30 on a Monday afternoon. It is nice to see someone finally take over this old building, and a local Hispanic family who owns a small chain of authentic Mexican restaurants owns it now. The owners have done a nice job turning this old store into a small restaurant. There are hand-painted pictures underneath the waterproofing on each of the tables, pictures on the wall, fake birds on perches hanging from the ceiling, and saloon-style double doors leading to the restrooms. Overall, I like what they've done to decorate the place to feel like an old-school, real-deal Mexican restaurant.
Ricardo served us, and though his English was limited, he did his best to answer any questions we had. He was also attentive and made sure we were satisfied.
My mother ordered the chicken acapulco special, and I ordered my usual enchiladas verde. I also ordered a glass of horchata because I cannot resist the delicious Cinnamon Toast Crunch-milk flavor. Our food arrived fairly quickly, maybe 15 minutes after ordering. The presentation was fine. Nothing spectacular, but portions were fair for the price.
The enchiladas were, unfortunately, nothing to write home about. The tortillas were a little stiff, despite being soaked in salsa verde, and the chicken was a bit dry, almost as though neither were particularly freshly prepared. However, everything else we had was better. The rice was decent - standard authentic Mexican rice. The refried beans, on the other hand, were excellent. I suspect they were hand-made and seasoned with at least chili powder. My mother's chicken acapulco was really good! The freshly grilled chicken, sauteed onions and queso were all great.
My horchata was also fine. I suspect it was made from a concentrate or powdered mix, but it tasted great, so I l'm okay with it.
Overall, I like this place. It's a nice addition to the small town of Monon, and I would like to see it flourish.“
