Not BBQ , if you have had bbq in Texas or Carolinas , this is not the place. I don't like to give bad reviews, but they need new recipes. Very bland food, for a very bland audience. Richmond needs traditional places with some real smoke. I have worked at a butcher shop and I know the difference between a roast and a brisket, unfortunately some people in Richmond do not. Having attended seminary in the Richmond area, I've long been a fan of this part of the state. While seminary is now down, I find myself visiting here semi-regularly because of friends who now live in the area and a friend who serves as a pastor here. The Firehouse BBQ & Blues is definitely a preferred joint located in Richmond's historic depot district.
