The Bookmark: Coffee and Company

First time being in, sat at a counter bar to order and regulars at the counter eating were nice and engaging in conversation with me. They were more engaging and nice than the staff. One staff member noted she couldn't look at something she was given cause of the dang customers keeping her busy... talking about me. I'm aware it was sarcastic but it def doesn't bring welcome in, thank u for your buissness vibes esp as my first time in. Neither staff attempted to make any conversation with me, in a small tight space that feels odd. I found that same woman's hair in my chicken salad sandwich. Younger woman checking me out at register started counting money 2x times during my card transaction...impersonal and distracted. Oldest woman seemed the most focused on getting my food to me in a timely, professional manner.

I have breakfast here almost every day, always great. Barb is awesome and the counter conversation is always interesting. They also have an attached book store that is small but very nice, definitely will be back.

Walking down a narrow hallway that smelled heavily of paint thinner or something should have been my first clue. The attached book store was nice. The younger lady at the “coffee shop” was standoffish to begin. I ordered a drink a stood waiting for well over 10min, I finally gave up and left because they hadn’t even started on my drink. I’ve never experienced such slow, odd environment.

Cool looking building with a coffee/food bar to sit at. Good grilled cheese & Iced Mochas. They are a little slow though but friendly.
