Great atmosphere with great staff. We sat on the outside bar area which was great. We had to go to bar to order food & staff brings food to us which is fine but the food was ok. I ordered a Cuban skillet, the issue was there was so much mustard on it that it over powered the flavors of the other food. I couldn't taste the pork shoulder or cheese.
This place is a staple for Notre Dame grad students and professors. It has just the right atmosphere for all sorts of hang outs: casual last minute dinner with a work group, drinks outside with friends to catch up, a meal by oneself while reading. I have even attended a wedding rehearsal dinner here. The food and drink is good - my favorites are the Scotch Ale, the brisket, and the Brussels sprouts.

delicious , beer was cold and perfect! Pro tip, if you get ice water, ask for an extra cup of ice! The water is RO (reverse osmosis), same water the you in their brewing process. The ice is not, to me it made the taste so much better. (I dink LOTS of water). Again, Tara was amazing. The wife and I will visit here again when in town!
