“I usually don't Yelp- and I'm sure most reviews are from those people generally discontent or prone to complaints regardless of service. Which is why I wanted to make sure I left a positive note for the outstanding service I received from my server, I believe her name was Corinnia. (There's no way I spelled that correctly). It was our first trip there in at least 10 years. As far as gastro pubs go, evil Czechs menu and atmosphere were just fine- even above average. But the service we received made us not only want to come back, but made it so the Czech will now be in our bi-weekly restaurant rotation. Something as simple and knowing your server enjoys her job, enjoys people, and enjoys being OF service in general........that's really all we look for when we go out right? “Great dinner vibe. Friendly staff and good food. Lots of drink options and specialty beers on tap.Update: 2nd visit December 2023, just as good. The food was a little rushed and bland this time but it wasn't a huge deal. Server was nice, that usually outweighs any minor food issues. Visited on a Monday night, it was busy and energetic.“
“Our server, who also mixed our delightful 100 K Manhattans was lovely. I had the duck tacos that had good flavors, but the duck was dry- probably overcooked. My husband had shrimp and grits. The chef needs to do a bit of a dive in how to make delicious grits. This entree lives or dies on how good the grits are. These were bland, made with water, not butter and whole milk. Instant grits?“
