The host/bartender was a fun guy who gave me a candy bar for a treat as I was low sugar 😆 and not drinking! Fun time tucked away in a random hotel bar near Notre Dame the place was jamming so apparently everybody knows about it“

The turkey chop was flavorful, well-seasoned, and cooked just right. The eggs, breakfast potatoes, and toast completed the meal perfectly. The service was friendly, the atmosphere was comfortable, and the portions were satisfying. If you are looking for a delicious breakfast and a great turkey chop, give this local restaurant a try. “Visiting South Bend and this place was across the street from my hotel so I decided to try it. While standing there looking at the menu and trying to two decide what to get another customer told me I should try the ribs. So I ordered the half rack of baby back ribs and they were absolutely amazing! The sauce was delicious and the meat was just falling off the bone. They came with fries coleslaw and French bread as well and the price was very reasonable. I highly recommend. I would like to go back and try some other menu items.“

We had state testing for my homeschooler & we have been dealing with a lot as a family & to be welcomed by such kind people & our awesome server Amanda was a fantastic experience!!!! Just melted our stress away for a bit!!! One of my big girls is in behavioural health & we had been feeling so rough! We will be stopping back in in the daytime when my kids & I are back in South Bend! The turkey melt & the chicken bacon sandwich are fab!!!!! Great place to go! “We ordered the Easter dinner this year based on past positive experiences and boy, we were not disappointed!! It was absolutely delicious! We knew it would be good, but it was really wonderful! And so much food for the price. With groceries being so expensive now, you couldn’t buy that much food for such a good price. We added sausage and noodles (duh!) and it even came with dessert. “Excellent ribs and polish. Crispy fries! Tangy, semi sweet sauce with smokey hints. Very balanced flavor!!! Guys behind the counter are pretty chill too. This place is the definition of a hidden gem! And, they have a very affordable small box and some of their other menu items are very well priced. You can tell they do it for the love and to help the area have better food. They could easily move to a fancy location and charge three times as much. With all due respect, they put that other local BBQ legend to shame!“

“I chose Joe's for my husband's 60th surprise birthday gathering with 10 of our closest friends. The setting was casual but festive and friendly. The service was some of the best you will ever get. The menu includes your neighborhood bar favorites and we didn't have to "wait" for it at all. Everyone in our party commented on what a nice time they had. I look forward to returning soon!“

“Love the Bucket!!! BUT, did have an unpleasant experience for the first time in our many visits. 11:00 in the morning it took multiple conversations with staff to get the outdoor music turned down. Other customers also felt the music for that time of day was inappropriate. We are music enthusiasts, But sometimes it’s pleasant to enjoy a meal and cocktail with audible conversation. We will continue to frequent The Bucket and also request music at a reasonable decibel so we can converse comfortably. Thanks“

Apparently if you are not a regular, they will give your table to one of them even if you reserved months in advance. Hostess and Manager do not value out of owner business so go somewhere else. The only option I could choose was "slow service" but wait staff were better than management.“
