Steak and shake has changed a lot over the years.We placed the order on a kiosk. The food did get delivered. But drinks, napkins - we did ourselves. And then we bussed our own table.It's fine but it's not like it used to be.
I hadn't been to a Steak 'n Shake in a few years. They were closing stores all around our area. While traveling we decided to have a familiar favorite. What we got was a shadow of what it used to be. You order on a tablet, you get your own drink, use plastic forks to eat out of a paper covered basket, clear your own table, and for all that work they didn't do for you the computer asks for a tip. For a place that prides itself in steakburgers (and milkshakes) you would think the burgers would come out hot. Nope. My dad got a steakburger and it was cold as well as greasy.
