“We had a long weekend stay at the Elkhart RV Park nearby and decided to visit on a Saturday afternoon for a late lunch. We had salads, which were very generous, but were intrigued by their breakfast menu and decided to come back on Sunday morning. We arrived just after 9am and were seated immediately. The restaurant was busy, but not overly crowded. Taylor was our server and welcomed us with a large, warm smile. She brought us waters and gave us coffee while we inspected the large breakfast menu. My bride had a breakfast biscuit sandwich and I had a Western skillet with wheat toast. We both greatly enjoyed our breakfasts, but my wheat toast was over-toasted and dry. Taylor was excellent, returning frequently to refill our coffee and ask how the meal tasted. There are lots of good looking items on the menu, so we'll visit again if we're ever in the area.“

We're always so afraid to take our child to a sit down restaurant because he has melt downs. Those are no fun for us nor people around us. When ordering from the drive-up they always make you pull forward with a number attached to your car... sometimes it seems like forever till you get your food, but this time and this location, the food came out very quickly. Onion rings rock too, the cheese curds here used to be completely fantastic, but now they mix in the yellow cheese with a white cheese and it's only half okay 1/2 ?“

“Our waitress was Erin, she was wonderful and answered all of our questions. The food was amazing and cooked to order. The group of eleven then ordered dessert and it just blew us away. On the spur of the moment we decided to walk a couple of blocks from our hotel to what looked to be one of the nicer establishments that South Bend had to offer. They got us right in and seated. This was probably one of the best seasoned steaks I've had in a very very long time. My wife and I enjoyed a waitress selected glass of wine with dinner. “When I asked about vegan options I was handed a vegetarian/vegan menu. About half of the items were marked as vegan or ones that could be made vegan. The Mushroom Pate (vegan version) was way nice. The Grilled Fennel Salad (vegan version) was also really yummy. And the Cauliflower was incredibly good. So was the vegan chocolate dessert. “We made reservations for a dinner on the day of our visit and were lucky to get a good table. I recommend making reservations in advance to avoid being seated in the Bistro. Also, be prepared to utilize the bookstore parking lot if registered as a guest of the Morris Inn because the lot next to the Inn requires an electronic pass. I am unsure whether parking can be arranged during reservation. Regarding our interior experience, dinner was easily a 5-star event. We were placed in the care of a kind and sophisticated waitor and generally pleased by the overall conditions of the restaurant. Procession through the University toward the Morris Inn was magnificent. We shall certainly return here soon. I recommend the duck with a Manhattan and Death by Chocolate for dessert.“

“Have been there a half dozen times and their filet mignon is about the best I have ever had. Slightly crunchy on the outside and super tender on the inside. The accompanying sauces are all great as well. Shrimp cocktail are huge and the sauce is a different and better variation. Great wine selections and excellent service any time. Beer can desserts are ridiculously good. I have never had anything here that wasn't great. It's not cheap but it's worth every penny. They are known for their "Sword of John Adams'. I have never had it but I have seen people order it and never able to finish it all.“

The ambiance has something to be desired. There are two main dining areas. One is cozy with all booth seating. The other, where we sat, is more wide open with a few tables and no booths. IMO it's quite an odd set up. They could benefit from an interior designer. Not really a big deal to me though. The food...ah, the food! Chef's kiss to you Cinco 5! Amazing! We started with the pork dumplings. So good with the spicy dipping sauce. I had the pad thai with a heat level of 2 as suggested by our server. The portion was generous but still a tad spicy for me. Next time I'll try spicy #1. The hubs had the chicken and steak fajitas. They didn't come out sizzling like our neighboring table's did but he wasn't mad. The man is a fajita connoisseur, these take the top spot! Both meats were tender, juicy and seasoned perfectly. Two big !! What a great meal! We can't wait to return to Cinco 5. “Incredible food, and great service, even during a very busy Friday evening. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The only issue is a little noisy in the building when it was as full as it was. More difficult to have conversations across the table, but we did have a table of 8 so it was understandable. I would recommend doing a quieter evening during the week because the food was worth the visit.“

Other dish was a pasta dish and she loved it. Good flavor. We had a very nice time. Food and service very good and we did not have high expectations being it was ND football weekend. The potato skins were huge! The wings were solid. After the potato skins and wings it's was too much. We never ordered entrees. So you know what that means, we have to return.
