“My daughter and I stopped in for our first time on our way to see a show in a neighboring town. We were amazed at how good the food was. We started with an appetizer of very good homemade pie followed up by the best buttermilk pancakes I have ever had.“
“We've been eating at the Hilltop Restaurant for several years now at least once or twice a month, we love it...BUT---the coffee is so weak! Our only other complaint is that sausage links for breakfast are like those little cocktail weiners---ugh. Wish they would change to a different sausage link more like traditional ones. That being said, eggs are ALWAYS consistent, so is the bacon. Love it that you get four strips when you order two eggs. Hash browns are wonderful, toast is great, too...I can count on a delicious breakfast each and every time, cooked the same way, no matter who is cooking in the kitchen. My sunny side up eggs are always perfectly cooked, unlike some restaurants that may over cook them depending on who is in the kitchen. So thank you, Hilltop, for great traditional home cooking.“
“A wonderful place to go when you want to treat yourself.Kid-friendliness: They accommodate children of all ages. They are given special attention and coloring items.Wheelchair accessibility: Entries are smooth and wide and easy to operate.“
“Great breakfast buffet, we were sat in the carriage for our meal. Place is so clean and the staff are so friendly. We love coming here. Plus we visited the bakery and bought 2 small pies. If you have never been here give it a try, you won't be disappointed.“
“Great service , good selection on the menu. Had the potato skins ( were delicious and came quickly), wife had the breaded chicken sandwich and fries( she said it was the best chicken sandwich she had ever had), I ordered the new York strip with potatoes an carrots( steak was over but the sides were delicious), good drinks ( wife didn't like the orange pieces in the orange boozy shake)“
“First time there in many, many years. Our server, Jamie, was the absolute best! She was very helpful, pleasant and not rushed. Probably one of the best servers we've ever had anywhere!Very pleasant atmosphere. The food was great. Perch was great and the Trotter Steak was cooked just the way it was ordered. Next time I'm trying the Prime Rib.Highly recommend the carrot cake for dessert! Will definitely be back!“
“Above average ? Definitely has that old nostalgic charm. The place was packed on a Saturday afternoon. I will return and am trying the milkshake next time! I hear that their breakfast is good too. They had cases of a variety of candies available (sorry, no pics of that). “
“My fiance and I recently discovered George's and we love it!! We have found "our spot"! Not only is the food great, but the prices are even better! The staff is friendly, and the place itself is very clean. It's a bar and grill, so you can even go solo, or take the whole family. Highly recommend!!“
“We had our wedding rehearsal dinner here last night. We could not have asked for a better experience. The staff was incredibly helpful during planning the event, the bartenders Jordan and Sinclair were the absolute nicest people we could have gotten. The drinks were great, the food was amazing, and the building was beautiful. Absolutely would recommend them for any event or a night out!“
“Our first time trying out a new place tonight and it did NOT disappoint! We reserved the Ski Chalet Igloo and it was perfect! (Says it can seat 6, we had 4 and felt comfortable. Anymore may be a squeeze). The food was delicious! For starters we had the Mushroom, perfectly salty, savory and absolutely delicious. We ordered the Ruben and the Seoul Chicken sandwich, both were made to perfection, not a thing I would change! We were very satisfied with everything and will absolutely be back!“
“Fantastic place. Great food. Awesome service. Servers are always friendly and energetic. Lunch for business or dinner date with my wife. Always a great experience. Sometimes you have to wait a little bit when it's busy, BUT IT'S WORTH IT!“
“I'm so glad this place has stayed afloat with so many owner changes in the past several years. The new owners have done a lot to improve the place, including the mini golf course, and I really hope to see the course finally repaired as it was a childhood favorite to play on. Outside of the mini golf, the food here is really good. They have a great selection of sub sandwiches and pizza. Both reasonably priced and very good. I also got to try the buffet that they are testing out last week and absolutely loved it and I hope they keep it around. I'm excited to keep seeing improvements and happy to have another good pizza place around!“
“It was raining and our work crew decided to take a break and have breakfast. Never been there before but I drive past it daily. The menus are just plain typed out on plain paper and laminated. Nothing fancy. Tables and chairs are plain as well. It is kept clean even though it is an old building. Don't let the worn linoleum floor scare you away. That just means there's traffic which is a good sign. Now to the food... I had the Kitchen Sink omelet without Green Peppers. It came with American-style potatoes which looked hand cut and your choice of White, Wheat, Rye toast or English Muffin. I think it was about $9.50. It was the most expensive thing on the breakfast menu (if I remember correctly.) While I wanted the special of the day Cinnamon Roll Waffles, my blood sugar levels would have spiked to new heights and I would have been asleep in 15 minutes. Our server was very nice and she did a great job making sure our group of 7 always had our drinks full and our orders were correct. One of our group, who doesn't get out much, decided to spill his water all over the table. Our server was right on it and was very gracious. It was as though she was used to serving toddlers all day long and spills were no big deal. When the 3 egg omelet was placed in front of me, I could tell right away this was not a standard bland omelet. (I was a short-order breakfast cook for a prominent mom-and-pop coffee shop so I know what a good omelet looks and tastes like) The first thing I noticed where the sliced tomatoes that were cooked within the omelet and not just diced and thrown inside. The smoked ham and sausage were also cooked into the egg. It had mushrooms, onions, cheese, and I can't remember what else. Everything had a savory flavor and you could taste the ingredients. Not like the rubber omelets you get at a chain restaurant. I couldn't stop eating it. I had to force myself to slow down and enjoy it. it's like I was afraid someone was going to take it from me. I really wanted another one. So, if you are into good food and service and aren't worried about the way the place looks (But it's clean), this is the place you need to go. I'm sure if we went a couple of more times, they would know our names and adopt us into the family. When I drive by it now, I'm trying to find an excuse to go back. I don't understand how chain restaurants that serve blah food remain busy while these mom-and-pop places where you can taste the love in their food have empty seats. Anyways... if you want a great place to have a good breakfast at a more than fair price, and be treated as though you are special, I would highly recommend Evan's. (I hear their lunches are great too.)“
“Have went to Culver’s many times after a game or for a late night meal. Everyone is always super kind and helpful there. The food has a good taste but is a tiny bit expensive and serving sizes seem to be a little smaller. Other than that it’s a great place and they have a very calm atmosphere.“
“A great menu with so many choices you will not go hungry. So many neat antiques around the building . Really good service they really know how to take care of guests. The food was good with big portions you will not leave hungry.“
“We visited Shipshewana this weekend for a concert, before we left Sunday morning we stopped at basically the only place in the town that was open for breakfast. Sooo glad we stopped!! This is such a cute little restaurant, very clean and owners were very friendly! We loved our biscuit sandwiches, we will definitely be back next time we’re in town!“
“I just picked up a beautiful supper for my husband and he enjoyed every bit of it. It was hot. It was good and easily picked up at a good price. What more can you ask for thank you Goshen Family for making his supper. A great one.?????Parking: We needed Handicapped and it was open!Wheelchair accessibility: Easily accessible!“
“Great place for a bite and relaxation. The bartender was a pleasure to talk with. And did a great job multi-tasking. The burger, for my taste, had too many jalapeños and onions. I definitely could see myself returning next time I'm in town.“
“The French toast bananas foster is excellent. The skillets, also, are very good... with quality vegetables, including enormous mushrooms (not overly packed with potatoes like many restaurants' skillets). The turkey sausage in the skillet is plentiful and super tasty.A great, varied menu. Decent prices. Hard, friendly workers. We will be back.“
“Great chicken and baked sweet potatoes. I'm a diabetic, they know how to cook and serve. Been eating there more than 20 years.Dietary restrictions: Boasted chicken and sweet potatoes with a nice tossed salad. Great food for diabetics?“
“In town for some business meetings and my vendor sales team gifted me this amazing and delicious cupcake. Amazing presentation and box, and the quality of the cupcake was so evident of top caliber bakeries anywhere. Highly recommend their bakery!“
“Delicious! Wings never disappoint and customer service tonight was awesome! We liked that the wings were juicy and crisp and the flavors were really good! The mushroom burger was delicious as well! It didn’t look like it had much, but the flavors and seasoning were spot on and mouthwatering. We also loved the juicy and battered mushrooms. Definitely would recommend to try them.Parking: Parking lot is quite small, and depending what time you come, it might be really hard to find parking, but if you drive around a little you usually can find one.Wheelchair accessibility: They do have double sets of doors to get in through, but they have a ramp and tables that would work for wheelchairs.“
“We went for lunch and it was amazing. If I could give more than 5 stars for service I would.I had the apple burger and it was very tasty. I had a side salad with the oriental dressing and enjoyed it also.Even though the day was gloomy, sitting in the garage area with all the windows was pleasant. The area is heated so it was very comfortable.I had a whiskey and cola, the pour was nice.“
