The food was all good, but the waitress was really uncaring and rude. She spilt food and didn’t clean up, just left it on our table. We were Ignored mostly all the time, and not even checked up on. The food also took an extremely long time to arrive, and when it did they messed up the order, so we had to wait another 30+ minutes.

My visit to Furin in Valpo was honestly one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. The service was terrible. The waitresses were not personable or attentive at all. Our sushi took over 40 minutes to arrive, and when it finally did, one of the rolls was made incorrectly. We ended up waiting another 30+ minutes for the replacement.

To make things worse, one of the waitresses actually spilled our sushi roll all over the table, and we couldn’t eat it obviously. She didn’t offer to remake it or even take it off the bill, which was unbelievable. We also never got water refills, and when they took our chopsticks away, they never brought new ones back even after we asked.

At the end of the meal, the bill was simply dropped on our table, no “thank you,” no “goodnight,” not even a smile. The complete lack of hospitality summed up the whole experience.

Overall, completely unprofessional service and a huge waste of time and money. I won’t be coming back and wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone looking for a good sushi experience.

The male that sat us was amazing and the girl with the red hair was amazing. Everyone else was rude and literally wouldn’t talk to me and my boyfriend. we’re very kind to servers and tip well so seeing them be angry with us from the start was a shock. The food is amazing but it just ruins the experience when you say thank you and your drinks get slammed onto the table and ignored. I literally had to call over the girl with the red hair to get food because they weren’t checking on us. Maybe they don’t get to keep their tips so they don’t care? Not sure

We went here for a late lunch/ early dinner after a visit to a local university. My son wanted to try this place.

They seated us next to the bar, which was actually fenced off from the restaurant. The waitress was apathetic and seemed very uninterested in serving us.

We had crab rangoon for an appetizer. My son had the teriyaki salmon, that came with the miso soup and he enjoyed it. My wife had the shrimp & veg tempura dinner that also came with the miso soup. I had the chicken fried rice and the appetizer shrimp & veg tempura. The fried rice was ok, but the shrimp was dry and rubbery and was breaded and not in a tempura batter. The vegetables were mostly sweet potato. The food was not great. The bill for the three of us was $100.

We weren't in the mood so I can't speak to the sushi or sashimi. This place is highly rated, so maybe I just caught them on a bad day, but I won't be back to find out.

FURIN is a staple on this area. Being vegan, it's very uplifting that I can order numerous things from the menu! The food is so yummy, ESPECIALLY the rolls!
The staff is truly amazing, & so polite and helpful!
Sake is delicious, and they hv a wide variety of drinks.
But my fav part of my visits .. is the music.

Furin Is a well oiled machine when it comes to service. They have multiple servers with different responsibilities, so you never wait long to have dirty dishes cleared or drink refills etc. Food is hot and fresh. Pricing is fair. They have some kids options also. Great cocktail menu. I recommend.

Beef fried rice was delicious we also picked the shrimp and vegetable tempura very good too. Shrimp tempura was out of control. Also had the tofu avocado roll amd the tuna roll sushi. Everything was top notch. Will make it a point to go back there to try different options.

My fiance got really bad food poisoning hours after having sushi here, vomiting and horrible stomach pains. It was one of her first times having sushi too and due to that, she no longer wants to try sushi again.
