This is a boilermaker's classic for a good reason. Their peanut butter sauce goes so well with the burger it caught me by surprise. Tasty root beer also. Highly recommended.

Best breakfast in Lafayette!
Valerie served us up an amazing first time experience at this classic diner. Sign says they use beef tallow as their cooking oil! Love this spot. I ordered the Drew Brees country fried steak meal with hash browns and biscuits. The root beer jelly was a crazy surprise. Wife had the corn beef hash and eggs breakfast. Everything was 10/10 delicious. Nice cup of joe.

Age old diner with fast service and good food. The one downside is there is no pie served there anymore. Also by the suggestion of my waiter, I tried the spicy ketchup and by jive, I still think of it.
Great place and food. Had a good time!
If you’re looking for a place that truly represents the history and flavor of the area, this is it. This restaurant has been a local staple since the 1930s, and it’s easy to see why it has stood the test of time. It has become a destination for both locals and visitors, even earning national recognition by being featured on Guy’s Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. That alone says a lot, but the experience speaks for itself.
From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed by a fun, nostalgic atmosphere that reflects decades of tradition. The staff is friendly, the service is efficient, and the restaurant has the kind of charm that makes you want to come back again and again. Whether you’re stopping in for lunch, dinner, or just to experience a true local landmark, you won’t leave disappointed.
The food is exactly what you’d hope for—fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. Everything we ordered was well-prepared and arrived hot. It’s the kind of comfort food that has kept generations of customers coming through the doors.
And whatever you do, don’t leave without trying the famous XXX Root Beer. It’s an iconic part of the experience and pairs perfectly with the meal. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or someone who’s been coming here for years, it’s a must-have.
If you’re traveling through the area, this restaurant deserves a spot on your itinerary. Great food, rich history, friendly service, and an authentic hometown atmosphere make it one of those places that continues to earn its outstanding reputation decade after decade.

I’m ashamed to say I have grown up and spent my 51 years here in Lafayette and kinda forgot about this gem. Went tonight for dinner and service was fast and friendly. Food was hot and yummy! We will def be back soon!

The food was great and the root beer was awesome.
Great place great food
We choose to eat outside. The bacon on my blt was extremely hard and the fries were either overcooked or stale as they were also tough to eat. Forgot the cheese on my cheese fries. I dont think anyone realized we were sat even though we did go to the cashier to be sat. I understand we choose outside but the flies were extremely bad and got so much worse when the food arrived. We spent more time swatting at flys than eating.
