The service was fast and great! However the food was mediocre. My sisters pancake was raw and my waffle was soggy. Won't eat here again. It just wasn't great.

Great food, fast service, and many smiling faces. Found our new breakfast spot while we are in town.

9/30/23, my food was brought out luke warm. My chicken fried steak tasted like it was microwaved, hash browns were not fresh, eggs were ok. The worst part was my wife’s meal, which was also subpar, came out 8 minutes after mine. Objectively, her bacon was very good.I asked our waitress for a discounted meal for my wife and was told the manager/owner refused. I asked to speak with the manager, who proceeded to charge out of the kitchen, came to our table and proceeded to chew me out for bringing the issue to her attention. I asked her, “are you mad at me?” She said “yes, it’s not my fault, it’s your waitresses fault.” I asked her, “this is your business, correct?” She then said, “pay your bill and leave!” I’ve never heard a manager/owner throw an employee under a bus and be so disrespectful to a customer. A very simple apology or 10% discount would have been appropriate, which she was unwilling to provide. Needless to say 9th Street Diner lost two repeat customers, today.

This is a decent little place. The food is ok but they were out of wheat and white toast so I opted for sourdough. The weirdest part is that they only give 1 refill on soda. I've never ever experienced a place with a limit on your almost 3 dollar soda. ($2.99) Just so weird and considering I have 2 football players to feed, who drink a lot with their large amounts of food, I probably won't be going back there. Aside from that, they're not bad just not a good choice if you're there to eat a lot and you drink as much as you eat. IHOP would be a better choice I think.

Even though they were a little understaffed the waitress serving us did a pretty good job. We had a very good American breakfast.

Sunday morning breakfast is the best in town in my opinion!! The biscuits and gravy are today for the biscuits are so fluffy and the gravy is so rich. We make this are go to spot. Try and get there before church let's out because it seems this is not just my opinion.

A gem in Hays, Kansas. Not very big, ambiance so-so, but service superb and food delicious, hot and tasty. The owner allowed me to order breakfast during the lunch hour (Belgian Waffle with OM eggs and link sausage). Husband had a black & bleu burger cooked perfectly. And, drum roll please, the French fries are made in house and scrumtious. Street parking but lots of it. Handicapped restrooms and a full bar. What more can anyone ask than this? Fairly quiet and friendly people. Windows are CLEAN which tells me the rest of the place is, too.

This is my second time coming during lunch and won't be coming back. Both times when going with my partner we were treated unkindly by the server. The first time I chalked it up to the server having an off day, but after eating a second time and reading other reviews, I think otherwise. She was very rude, short, and acted as if we were inconveniencing her. It was also hard to get her attention if we needed anything because she was on her phone a lot. Both times we didn't order anything complicated and were very respectful. I don't expect servers to plaster a smile on their face or act sugary sweet but she would roll her eyes at us and huff a bit. Something else I noted was she seated everyone else (about 6 groups of people - some only being two people) in booths and both times we were seated at a table; Doing this drew a lot of attention to us and made me feel uncomfortable. The food was decent but it's not good enough to keep me coming back with the service provided.
