I came to Hays from Colorado for the Prairie Chicken Festival and I was blown away by Bella's Diner and LB Brewing. Perfectly cooked steak, delicious grapefruit Radler, cozy atmosphere. Definitely worth a stop if you are passing by on I-70. I will be back.

The wait was long and we almost left seconds before being seated but the food, drinks and the waitress were all great. Our waitress was very kind and efficient. My husband and I both had the smoked turkey club with fries. The fries were homemade and so tasty. The turkey club was also good. I just wish it had more mayo on it.My husband drank the number 2 and he really liked it. I tried the sampler of 8 beers. All were very good and had unique tastes. They were good sized sample glasses and came with a helpful info sheet on how to enjoy the entire experience. Overall this was a very laid back, family friendly place to have a bite to eat. We enjoyed and will be back!Kid-friendliness: They have a great kids menu as well as coloring pages and crayons for the littles!

This has always been a local favorite of mine. The craft beer and revamped food options are excellent. My only "complaint" is that they changed their fries to normal cut, instead of their thick cut. But if that's my only complaint, it's well worth every single trip.

As other reviews have quite clearly stated, the food is always been pretty good there, however, the menus keep changing to include smaller portions, or reflect a change in the way they process or cook or prepare their food. Additionally, the prices keeping trending higher on their food. Upon order lunch, we paid nearly $18 - $21 per person, for a basic lunch—with food that was not that exceptional to the community. Of course the brewery has some local brews, and the service was good, but if you are going to charge that much money for your food, during lunch, the portions should be far more than what arrived on the table. And the food needs to arrive piping hot. The soup had obviously been sitting a while. All of this and they only had four or five tables occupied. My last complaint is that some of the appetizers that once came complementary with your meal, now cost a whopping six dollars! Gella’s gravel bread was good, but it was a drawing factor to go and eat there. Now having to pay that much money for a couple pieces, really turns me off.So would we go again…maybe but no special reason draws us.

Food, greble for appetizer, garlic green beans - out of this world, chicken fried steak and fish ordered from others in the party, excellent and service was wonderful but the music was way too loud. Waitress was good. Maybe need to ask when folks come in walking with canes if they would like a table not clear to the back.

Great restaurant in this college town. The menu has a broad selection of dishes from salads to burgers to steaks. Decent wine list with decent pricing for a micro-brew place. Been to Hays several times and we always eat here.

I stopped in last week to have their bacon cheeseburger listed for $14.50 that says 'with your choice of cheese'. They billed me $15.50 If you are going to charge for cheese, you should probably just list it as a 'bacon burger' and say 'with your choice of cheese for $1 extra'. You can't charge extra for something it says it comes with ; )I tried my friends chicken fried steak, which I was pleased to see added back on the menu, but it was odd looking inside. It wasn't the tenderized cube steak I'm used to, it was a compressed meat looking substance and tasted 'livery'. And they removed the calamari from the appetizer list which I enjoyed having. So for the positive, unique restaurant with food choices you won't find at chain restaurants. Tea tastes great. Mac & cheese is homemade, not Kraft boxed mac and cheese. I will visit again.

Very large nicely laid out space in four refurbished buildings dating to the 1930s and older. Bartender, Michaela, was delightful and helpful.Beer was old school, which is very much a compliment. For example, the Imperial IPA was actually quite bitter, with nice pine and grapefruit aromas. One of the better beers I've had in the last several years. Overall, the beers were extremely well-brewed and focused on doing classic styles to style. Not a hint of any flaws in the 10 different beers we sampled. Should add that pints of the standard beers are $4 and the aforementioned imperial IPA was $6. So about half off big city prices.Food was good with obvious attention to detail. This is a must stop if you are a beer fan and anywhere nearby. Can't believe I've known about this place for nearly 20 years and just now made it in. Good job Gella's Diner / Lb Brewing Co.!
