I used to go to the Mad Jacks in 63rd street in 2011 all the time! I miss it! I then started going to Charlie D's on Eastwood traffic way but they always busy, slow service and unorganized. So I decided to visit Mad Jacks in Kansas!!!! The best fish ever hands down. We got the Saturday special 1/2 pound of basa, fries and a drinks for only $9.99!!! This was enough for 2 ppl!!! It was fresh, quick, easy, busy but they got them orders out quickly !!! Will definitely bypass Charlie's d and come here always!

Stopped in to get fresh catfish to cook at home this time. The fish was fresh and fried up great!
The spaghetti is horrible. I would take SpaghettiOs any day over it the fish and the chicken is soggy, but has good taste. The Buffalo sauce is horrible.

Went for the first time today. The fried catfish was top notch. The fries were great also. Fountain drink had good ice. The staff was friendly and made sure you were served. They also sell fresh fish. It is a to go place with a bench along the wall, no tables. The 1/2 pound combo was under $15. A fairly priced square meal!

Got the basa lunch special and it was delicious. Hush puppies are the best in the metro and okra was fresh. Staff at the deli counter was positive and friendly but the staff at the register acted like she could care less. When asked if it was a fillet or how it was portioned, she just said "it's a half pound fried" which wasn't the question. Had I known it was nuggets not fillet I would have ordered twice as much.Not entirely sure what the bread was for but it was good anyway ? wish there were a few more spots to sit because it got busy and between me on crutches and the elderly woman getting carry out and a few others, it wasn't much of a place for us all. Tile flooring looked like it was cleaned as best as it could be but needs updated.

This used to be the highlight of my almost weekly visit. But now after the last two weekend visits I will not be returning. The fish is over cooked and dry. Side dishes are tiny and have no soul or flavor. Service? The men behind the fish counter are friendly. But the women behind the counter and packaging the food are unfriendly and rude with fake smiles. if you don't choose to give a tip when paying their attitudes get almost mean. I'm trying to figure out why should I give you a tip for doing the same as someone working at McDonald's or Burger King? At least they tell you "Thank You for Coming"!I feel I wasted my money and time. I will never return. it's sad because I would drive an hour to 40 minutes to get my fish from Mad Jack's. I won't even buy their raw fish. I'm just done.

This is my go-to spot for fried seafood, especially now that City Fish and More is no more. This place is actually better than its now-defunct competitor, and I regret going for so long without giving Mad Jack a try.I usually get catfish strips, fries and hushpuppies, though the fried shrimp is also excellent.There's no dine-in seating at all here, and not much of a place to sit and wait for a take-out order. So either go online and order ahead or get it delivered if you're in range. In addition to serving cooked seafood, this is also a fish market. That's a plus if you need some raw fish but a minus if you don't care for the smell.
