My friend and I both ordered Cobb salads. She had steak on hers. I had mine without added protein. The lettuce wasn’t very fresh and they skimped on the toppings. The flavor was good. I’ve had way better Cobb. I would go back and try other things, though. Can’t judge a chop house by its salads!
It was so very cold in there, air-conditioned was dripping on our table. No one seemed to care. They said if they turned the air up than the floors would be slick. Get carpets. We will not be back anytime soon
Waited on drinks to long ordered waitress came back 1 item not on menu anymore reordered. Reorder food came out but not my wife's. Manager came still ended up paying for 2 drinks walked out
After experiencing the worse customer service ever from the waiter named Kenny! The Mgr & GM came out. The food was absolutely amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Looking for sómewhere quiet and cool in between baseball games. Perfect spot!
A 44 dollar steak that was thick of gristle hard to eat told waitress she says ohh took are money anyway
I will never go there again !
Drinks took 6 min to get to table then salad came out then within minutes the steak came out!
It was a bad experience
Poor service ruined entire experience! Popped in on the tavern side this evening for a drink and a quick bite to eat. Sat down at the bar and waited for service… that unfortunately never came. The bar tender and I made eye contact several times but she still refused to formally acknowledge me. Sat there (without service) for 10 minutes before another couple came in and sat at the bar, who were immediately served. I was the only person of color in the bar at the time so I can’t help but wonder if that had to do with the refusal of service. Especially a shame since I’ve been there several other times with white friends and family and have never had this issue. I wish I would’ve gotten the bar tenders name before leaving but irregardless, I won’t be back.
* as a follow up to my original review. I attempted to reach out to the GM who left their contact information in his response to my complaint. The number he left was an invalid number and my email never received a response back. Super unfortunate because I was hopeful they would actually take action as promised. My black and brown folks, definitely avoid this establishment!
One of my most favorite go to when I'm in Lawrence.
Awesome food and great staff & service! Ella was the best waitress! Thank you!
Only ordered a salad and a burger with a side. The restaurant was completely empty, and somehow still forgot the side. Terrible to go service.

The hostess didn’t care or comprehend about seating for a person with a disability. My husband attempted to sit in the narrow booth and then he attempted the high table, he was very uncomfortable in both but she refused to offer us anything else. We had a reservation but she couldn’t/wouldn’t help us. Not all disabled people use a walker or a wheelchair.
My husband got a gimlet, which was great. However, they told us the rolls were “in the oven.” Then we got cold, very old-tasting, hard, rolls. The French onion soup was fantastic as always. My husband’s baked potato was so hard and dry he had to cut it with a steak knife, and it was dry on the inside. He ordered the lamb chops that came with three for $42, and they are very small. He said one was so salty it was inedible, and he loves salt more than anyone I know. They also forgot the jalapeño glaze and brought a metal container of it that was cold and clearly straight out of the fridge. My prime rib was perfectly cooked but tasted entirely unsalted. I saved most of it, and ate it at home seasoned the way I like it. The au jus tasted like low sodium beef broth out of a can. All in all it was disappointing based on the price. I don’t usually leave reviews, but I normally like this place and will likely still go back.

I never give a bad response but here goes. We took my daughter in law and family out for a special night for her birthday. First they told us the dining room was all reserved so we were seated outside. The flies out there were so bad we could hardly eat. The entire time we were there no one went in to eat in the dining room. I ordered steak and a baked potato. The baked potato was cold, which I ate anyway. The steak was old or marinated, I couldn't tell. I ate it anyway, but after I ate it everyone started to complain about the taste of their steaks. My grandson ordered a hamburger and kept complaining about his hamburgers taste. His dad said it was probably the cheese. His dad and I finally decided to taste his hamburger and it was definitely old without a doubt. Probably why we had so many flies. A very bad, miserable, and expensive night out. I forgot the rolls. Three grandsons were looking forward to the rolls, they love Texas Road House rolls. They were as hard as rocks. Not a hit!! Sorry for the review but the Chop House needs to know!!!

I've only eaten there a few times, and ordered steaks each time, and were always disappointed. The Crab cake apetizers were just average or below, steaks had an old, funny taste and color, over salted, greasy French fries. Hamburgers tasted funny and the kids wouldnt eat it. And it wasn't just me, we had a party of seven. Too expensive to try it again.
The food was excellent. The service was great, everything was wonderful. It's a little pricey, but it's worth it.
