Don't let the outside scare you off, the inside is super welcoming. The sushi was amazing. I've had sushi all over the place, and I would say this was a top-tier typical sushi spot. Fast and friendly service. Would definitely come here again.

I'm not a sushi expert but we really enjoyed it. I think the crab rangoons were maybe the best we've ever had. We went with a group, ordered a variety, and got to try quite a few rolls. All were great!

We were pleasantly surprised. The exterior of the building leaves something to be desired, but the pleasant atmosphere, service and food were great! I enjoyed my sushi rolls while my husband found the miso soup and salad quite tasty. Will come again!

I've tried to order sushi here twice now and I even placed my order ahead of time and showed up to pick it up and I was told to wait a few minutes. I ended up waiting way too long, for short. To get a single order of the salmon cucumber roll with 2 egg rolls and it still wasn't ready. They still had 2 other people ahead of me. Kind of just dissapointed and wasn't waiting around any longer, so I left.

Just went to Concept 23 and it was hands down one of the best seafood boils I’ve had. The food was fresh, seasoned perfectly, and cooked just right — nothing overdone, everything full of flavor. The sauce was incredible and had the perfect kick.

The portions were generous, the seafood was high quality, and the whole experience was fun and worth every penny. The staff was also friendly, fast, and made sure we had everything we needed.

If you’re craving a seafood boil that actually delivers, Concept 23 is the spot. I’ll definitely be back!

I ordered from this place on doordash. I had the Golden Crunchy Roll and a seafood boil. The sushi was really good, some of the best in Lawrence. Fish and rice tasted fresh and not too sticky. Seafood boil was pretty good. I’m from the south so it’s hard to come by some good crab here, this place definitely scratches the itch!! I think I’m going to order it more spicy next time. I ordered mild with Cajun seasoning, it was good but it could’ve had a little more flavor. Still really good though. I would come back here, and I will definitely order from here again!

I am not joking when I say this is my favorite place to eat in Lawrence. I was a loyal customer when they were at Sushi Station, and I followed them over to Concept 23. I take all my friends and family here. The staff recognizes me because I come in so frequently. They are always kind and quick and cook such fresh delicious food. Most people wouldn't consider a japanese restaurant for Cajun food, but it's seriously good. Don't hesitate, go try it now!

This place is phenomenal! The food is amazing, the owner introduced himself and mad suggestions. It's a fusion restaurant that serves Japanese food and Cajun cooking. The baked mussels and takayaki are the best I ever had. Service is quick and portions are very generous.
