Excellent place, people, experience. Totally impressed with their operation and enjoyed their wines. Did a tasting; each unique and delicious! Good food too! A+ Came as a Harvest Host (RV) guest, and highly recommend it to anyone. Enjoy!
Hostess was very interesting and knowledgeable about wine. Here, she and her husband grow the grapes and bottle their own wine. Also had a great meatball sandwich. Would be a great spot for an overnight stay in your RV.
Lauren was absolutely AMAZING!! She has great vibes and knows her wines well! Its such a fun place and definitely had to grab some jam!! My friend and I will definitely be coming back!
Great day spent at Z&M Twisted Vines- the owners are the kindest and coolest people, the wine is diverse and each one has a story, AND the Roman Candle dessert option was literally fire. š„
The Roman Candle was a sweet treat and a great wine pairing. The owners were amazing and made for a fun experience!
Watermelon wine was amazing! Great fruit wine but not too sweet. Tropical stealth wine slushie is delicious. Canned Beer to. A good spring, summer, fall place plenty of seating inside for groups, Lawrence location. Great for couples, families, etc
Iāve gone to both the Leavenworth and Lawrence locations more than once, hoping the wines improve. They donāt. Their red wines have a strong metallic taste to them, their whites are heavy, and their flavored wines like the watermelon are nice for a glass but have an incredibly odd, thick syrup consistency. It ends up as overpriced wine that is barely palatable.
The food is also disappointing. $15 for a cheese and cracker plate, and the crackers are Ritz, the cheese prepackaged cubes from Walmart and pickles that are at least a week past their throw-out date. Not to mention the Oscar Meyer hot dogs they dress up with normal mustard and market as elevated. Theyāre not.
Overall the Lawrence location is beautiful, but in both shops itās like they are unsure who they are. A kitsch wine shop with wine memorabilia who happens to sell wineā¦.but not very good wine. Itās disappointing because the servers have been so kind and pleasant every time Iāve gone.
Omg..... this place was amazing. Randomly googled this place while visiting kansas city to watch a the chiefs game but wanted to check out some local wineries. The sample selections drew us in to check this place out. Also love the fact that it is veteran owned. Thank you for your service. The 45 minute or so drive was worth it. The selection was awesome. Tried many of their products from the wines to ciders and more. We could not pick a favorite so we shipped a case home of wine and the cream soda cider... Also had to pack a few bottles in our own luggage.
Gina and her husbands were so very friendly and fun to be around. Wished this place was back home in Massachusetts but knowing they are able to ship to my home State will have to do for now. Good luck with everything and thank you so much for the great time we had there.
This is only our 2nd visit, since we live in Utah, but as the 1st visit we are still impressed with the wines and staff. Huge selection of wines and cider with seasonal and new varieties being added constantly. Food items available but are just avg. We'll def return and revisit.
People in Lawrence, KSā¦Iām from Rochester, NY and happened to stop into Z&M Twisted Vineyard - Lawrence on our travels from CO to NY. If you have not been to this local establishment, you are really missing out! Amazing owners with an amazing story. Great wines, ciders, mixed drinks and a venue that is suitable for all types of events! My husband and I were blown away. Check them out for a fun date night or to host work, non- profit, game night or any other type of social event. Their story of how this and their original location, Z&M Twisted Vines Winery - Leavenworth came to be will make you a fan! And their dogsā¦ā¤ļøā¤ļø #veteranowned #winetasting #doggies #harvesthosts

I really wanted to like this place. I was in a party of 3 to celebrate my friend's birthday at the grape stomp and opera. I had never been here before, but it seemed like an activity that could be fun without having to put in too much effort. All of us like wine, and we are pretty chill people.
When we walked in, there was not really any indication that an event was happening. There were a couple customers at the bar and two employees. We approached the bar and waited a couple minutes to be acknowledged. The person who finally helped us didn't seem like he knew.... Anything. I hate to say that because I think he was trying, but there was no direction or information given to us. On the website, it stated that you could choose a red, white, or blend wine flight. So we were not prepared to have a list of over a dozen wines to pick 3 from. That was fine, but we were a bit frazzled and were only given one menu to look at. Altogether, we chose 5 wines. Every time we named one, the employee went to grab one bottle at a time to bring to the counter. He also made separate trips for each of the flight boards. He also couldn't recommend anything. He only repeated what was on the menu. We thought maybe he didn't drink? Idk. We were given our flights in little plastic wine cups. We asked if we stomp and drink? Or drink then stomp? He said whatever we want to do. We kind of made our way to a separate room where the actual event was, having no idea where we were going or what we were supposed to do. There were no employees at the event to tell us anything about what we were doing. There were a couple tables of people, and I was really surprised that there were at least 8 children attending. Several babies and several under 10. It doesn't say on the event page "family friendly" but apparently on their website at the bottom it states that all events are family friendly unless specifically saying otherwise. We would not have come if we had known that. I realized at least one of the babies belonged to an opera singer, so that was totally fine. The opera part was really nice, but they also talked in between and it was hard to hear them without a microphone, and we couldn't decide if we should pay attention or continue with our celebrating. It felt rude to socialize and stomp. I also didn't realize that there was *one bucket* of grapes for everyone to share. Sure, it was like 3' by 3' but I was kind of expecting either a stock tank or maybe every party gets their own smaller bucket? So we had to wait nearly an hour for other people/kids to vacate the bucket. There were three tubs of water and towels outside the bucket, but again there was no one to tell us what to do. I thought maybe we would rinse our feet beforehand, but the water was apparently just to wash your feet after. I know feet stuff doesn't survive the wine process, but that felt icky. They also were conveniently out of clean towels when it was our turn. We asked for more and they gave us 3 but didn't bring more towels to the area for the next people. Dirty towels were just on a big pile on the floor.
I could go on more about the poor quality/availability of drinks and service, but I'll just say that several drinks we wanted were unavailable although they were still posted on the menus and chalk board signs. The slushies weren't great and the same employee in the beginning couldn't remember all the flavors and had to come back a couple times to tell us. The blackberry was grape, FYI. My friend needed to pay for her extra drinks but wasn't given any ticket or attention when we were trying to leave. We waited at the counter for 5 minutes hoping to get someone's attention but no one acknowledged us. She had to just estimate her total and left cash on the counter, which was absolutely a last resort, but we really wanted to go.
With the lack of direction, attendance of many children, unavailability of employee knowledge and drinks, this is
What a fantastic experience here! We did a couple flights just to try the wines. A couple were not flavors that we enjoyed much (but they werenāt bad, just not our types of wines), the ones we did enjoy were fantastic! The Blackhawk Blackberry and the watermelon (both Farm to Table wines) were amazing - we bought a few bottles to take home to Michigan with us! The staff was super friendly and informative! Shared some history of the winery and the owners with us which was very interesting! We met the owner before we left and really enjoyed our conversation with him.
This place has great wine and a great experience. I look forward to coming back and enjoying the wine and atmosphere.
Wonderful environment!
Great ambiance and selection of not only wine, wine slushies, food, but also fun wine related items and clothing!!
Delicious wine!
I bought a bottle of the double tap blackberry and it is dangerously delicious! ?
What a fun venue and friendly hangout! A variety of yummy wines for any taste plus some specialty drinks and a nice food menu, you can bet weāll be back. Gina is an awesome hostess. I love their business philosophy of partnerships in the community.
