Big up! If you are craving authentic Caribbean flavors in Missouri, the Authentic Taste of Jamaica brings the island heat right to the heart of the Midwest. Patiwan and Yardie's would be proud of the spread—the beef patty and cabbage is proper. Me lash the sorrel! It's absolutely banging.
We have been meaning to try this restaurant for a while…and WOW. Just WOW. After an afternoon of hard yard work, we decided to carry out. From the Coco bread to the beef patties, to the curry and jerk chicken, to the plantains, EVERYTHING was delicious and spiced to perfection. The seasoning on the beans/peas & rice was truly medicine for the body AND the soul and the medium spice level on the jerk chicken would please most every customer. Even the humble mac & cheese...
This is easily the best jerk chicken I’ve had in the last decade. Perfect char, fantastic heat (ordered the spicy option), and really just hits you right in that memory bank of flavor. Pair that with the amazing sides and attentive service, this place is the full package.
