Back when it was Black Agave they had phenomenal food, fresh chips, amazing salsa. Now? Trash. They kept the same prices for margaritas but switched to cheaper tequila, the chips tasted days old, the salsa was OFF. I used to love going here and now it's just foul. Ordered enchiladas and they tasted strongly of cinnamon, not what I was expecting. I hope they can get back to the standards which once were but it may end up like all the other businesses in that building... Out.However, the staff was friendly, helpful, and speedy. Very kind people working there with not so great recipes and conditions to work with. I hope things get better.
We were sitting unattended with our drinks for about 20 minutes. The appetizer came *after* our entrees. All the food was lukewarm except the fries. The server came by to ask if the food tasted okay after we had eaten almost all of it (too late to do that). The music was playing only intermittently. On the plus side, I liked the ambiance and decor of the restaurant, and the drinks were pretty good. The menu was extensive, but don't get the torta (it does not look or taste Mexican).
Ordered the Seafood Fajitas and Texas Fajitas. Both were excellent, and we left the restaurant with lots of leftovers to spare! Definitely would recommend this place. My girlfriend has been here twice, and thoroughly enjoyed it both times.
This place is outstanding I gave it another shot and they have a new menu. Shrimp Diablo and chili Verde so freaking good.
I am so glad I found this restaurant. I had the beef grande burrito. It was excellent and very filling. The chips and salsa are excellent too. I will be back again soon.
Amazing drinks, unique menu very authentic and attentive staff. It's my new favorite restaurant!
Came in on a Friday night to grab a quick bite at the bar. Greeted promptly and order a black agave margarita which was served quickly and it did not disappoint. I was surprised at the diverse menu! They even have a ribeye and tomahawk steak! I ordered a dish I could not pronounce it was a stuffed steak and I added grilled shrimp, it was absolutely delicious. Impressive tequila assortment. Authentic decor and nice ambience. This restaurant is really great! Way better than any Margaritas or On the Border! It deserves a better rating so don't pass it up! ✌️
During COVID I know things are not easy on restaurants and service industry but Unfortunately our experience has not been very good at all. We were a party of 10 so I know that’s a larger group but the restaurant was not busy, there were about 5 or 6 other parties in the whole restaurant. It took more at 8 mins for the server to great us. We had to ask for water, then after the server took orders our water glasses sat empty for over 15 mins. Several other servers walked by and 2 people with head sets who I assume are managers walked by multiple times and stood around and didn’t ask us if we needed water. One manager did bring us more chips but did not refill our water. The food took a lot longer than most Mexican restaurants I have been to, usually it’s pretty quick. After 40 mins the food came and the food is actually ok but due to poor service and management we won’t be back.
We tried out the restaurant Sunday. Convenient location just to the west of Oak Park mall. The restaurant decor is gorgeous. Service was great. The food was absolutely delicious!
Comida deliciosa! We loved it. Friendly staff and all the food was fantastic. I had the lamb street tacos and they were so good. Beware: all the food we had was fairly spicy, which I loved, but if you don’t like spicy I’d say be careful. We’ll be back!

Great food. Great staff. Big portions. Big beers.
We brought our family (party of 6) and we were exited to share this new restaurant with them, but sadly it was a disappointing visit. The service was slow, the server lacked attention to detail, we continously kept asking for things & there was a hair on one of the meal and nothing was done about it (But the ambiguous was on point). For the service we received I don't believe the server deserved an automatic 20% gratitude tip ($27 tip on a $120 tab). Am all in for supporting local business, but we will not be coming back.. But food was good.
Went here for lunch with my pastor today at his recommendation - this is a total hidden gem! I had no idea this place even existed, and it’s really good! This is a picture of the enchilada casserole I ordered off their lunch menu! Very creative menu and very good ingredients - everything tasted fresh and was prepared well. The chips and salsa are probably a 3.5 out of 5, but the service was really good and the food was excellent! Huge portions and a good price for the amount you get!
Fabulous food and fantastic service. We had the guacamole, nachos, street tacos both steak and chicken. Make time to go you won't regret it*!*
