my favorite fresh spot for salad hummus and tea/coffee, I frequent independence but prefer Westport for the wooden salad bowls, reminds me of my childhood!
I arranged New Year’s Eve dinner before the KC Mavericks game last night. They set up a buffet at their Eastland location. The catering option with gyro, chicken, rice, veggies, hummus, salad, baba ganoush, pita and baklava was wonderful. Food was wonderful, portions huge, staff friendly and easy to work with. Jerusalem Cafe is great for 1 and amazing for a group of 19, like mine last night.
The hummus is about as authentic as you can get. We went to Israel a while back, so we have a basis for comparison. The portions are plentiful. The food is tasty. Definitely recommend it.

Terrible ordered shrimp and feta, the shrimp was raw and cold in the middle totally gross. Dolma was mushy. $25.00 for less than sub par meal. Never again!

Ate here for the first time last night. It did not disappoint! We will definitely be back. Our friends who joined us eat regularly at the Independence location. The food was delicious and the portions are huge. The gyro was one of the best I have ever eaten. My husband ordered the falafel platter and manakish. It was all delicious too.The waitstaff was friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend.

The young man running the shop worked very hard and was very kind, but was obviously completely stressed. The food was not mideastern whatsoever. It lacked any notion of spice, and the meat pie tasted like an unflavored Sloppy Joe.

Can't believe it took me so long to drop in. I can't say enough good things about the food. Best Mediterranean food in KC. By far! Portions are generous. Healthy food. A lot of variety. Every dish so far has been up to my high standards. Great staff and environment. I will definitely be cooking much less from now on! It's a win/ win!
