it was good and the service was good but the options were limited. either the buffet or some expensive choices. no side dishes or smaller items on the menu for people that don't eat as much. this was on a Saturday night.
When we lived in Parsons we would eat at Deep South nearly every week and loved introducing our family and friends to this awesome restaurant. Not only is the food delicious but the people generous, warm and caring. We moved away nearly a year ago to an area with great restaurants, but we haven’t found anything that compares to Deep South. Deep South Eatery is a family-owned restaurant with a warm, generous, and caring small hometown feel. It offers an amazing southern and authentic Cajun/Creole menu with delicious, excellent, and fantastic home cooked food. The menu always changes and includes dishes like shrimp creole, red beans and rice, etouffee, fried oysters, frog legs, gator bites, burgers, and chicken-fried steak. On Wednesday and Thursday for lunch and dinner, and Friday and Saturday lunch, guests order off the menu. For dinner on Friday and Saturday, there is an all-you-can-eat shrimp, catfish, chicken, and delectable side dishes buffet with items like fried okra, boudin balls, hush puppies, Southern green beans, mashed potatoes and gravy, a salad bar, and homemade desserts. Sunday features an all-you-can-eat family style buffet. The service is wonderful and good, and the prices are reasonable. Some note the options can feel limited to the buffet or more expensive choices, with no smaller items for lighter appetites.
