I am reaching out to bring to your attention an issue we encountered during our visit to your IHOP location in Overland Park, Kansas.
While we had no concerns regarding the quality of the food served, we were deeply disappointed by the behavior of one of your staff members. The server who attended to us displayed unprofessional conduct by placing our plates on the table in a careless manner, rather than serving them properly. Additionally, when presenting the check, they specifically highlighted the tip section, seemingly to encourage gratuity.
As international students, we politely declined to leave a tip due to financial constraints. However, the staff member persistently pressured us to do so. Upon our refusal, they reacted inappropriately by making derogatory remarks, forcibly taking the receipt from our table, and refusing to return it to us.
We strongly believe that tipping is a gesture of appreciation, not an obligation. Moreover, treating customers differently based on their willingness or ability to tip is unacceptable. We sincerely hope that this matter will be addressed to ensure all guests are treated with respect, regardless of their financial situation or background.
Although I am unable to provide the receipt, as it was taken from us, I wanted to bring this issue to your attention in the hope that necessary actions will be taken. Please consider addressing this with your staff to prevent similar experiences for future customers.

Food cold, eggs hard and took way too long for service.
It is an Ihop so you pretty much know what to expect already, but I'll say the cooks have their game together. The food is always prepared promptly and with skill. There are typically a bunch of weird patrons and listening to the conversations of the guests is the best entertainment you will get here. I honestly prefer this place to a bunch of the more "upscale" brunch places around town. What you get for the money is worth it and it is promptly delivered instead of an hour long wait at other places.

IHOP is always the same. I tried something new, though, Avocado Toast. I ordered my eggs over-medium, but they were hard. If I could have found my waitress, I would have told her, but she wasn't around, and I was so hungry. My husband finally flagged her down after she had left our table and after asking HIM how his breakfast was. She offered to have my order redone, but I told her I couldn't eat anything more. When she presented the check, she told me she gave me 15% off my meal. The bread the egg was on was good, though.

I was very disappointed in my meal. The hashbrowns were hard, crunchy, and dry. The toast was almost burnt. I chose my meal by looking at the menu online before I came in, and I was surprised the meal was $2 higher than I expected when the bill arrived. When I inquired, they explained that I was looking at the online menu for the Metcalf location, and this location charges $2 more for the same meal.
