J. Gilbert's Wood-Fired Steaks & Seafood Kansas City

IT was our first time at the restaurant. I was very impressed with the restaurant as a whole. Our waitress was very attentive to our needs and suggested several options for us to try. Our steaks were cooked to perfection!! We will definitely be going back to try something new.

Thank you for the birthday card and free dessert dinner was amazing and it was cool you sat us right by the live entertainment. truly was a great birthday!

J Gilbert's is a favorite of ours & we went for a birthday celebration. We had great service, the food was awesome, and the recommendations of the server were spot on. The menu did change this year and we do miss some of our faves, but we know we will find new ones.

A personal tradition is to have a birthday dinner at J Gilbert's. Why? Because the ambiance, food and service are extra special!

Weve been going to J Gilberts for 30 years and probably wont be going back. The service is not the same as it has been in the past, they have added food runners instead of simply a waiter or waitress, our waitress was inattentive and the quality of the food isn't nearly the same. I ordered ribs and they were overcooked, my wife a filet and it was actually tough -

Service was spectacular- Meili is so sweet, very helpful, and overall made such a great birthday dining experience. I will say that all three of us were VERY disappointed to hear that the seven layer coconut cake is no longer offered and now the birthday dessert can only be chosen off of the pre-fixe menu instead of from the full dessert menu. That was always the biggest reason we pick this place every year to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays.

I love this restaurant. Sad they nixed the shrimp Durango but the beef carpaccio is now what I'm coming in for. The jalapeño margarita is great! Sweet but not too sweet. Can't wait to come back!

We were celebrating our 40th anniversary at our favorite place! The steaks were awesome as was the calamari!

Amazing food. Some of the best we've ever had. Sadly the service was terrible. We arrived at 8:10pm and didn't get our main course till 9:15pm and our waitress walked by us a dozen times and didn't ask us if we wanted a refill on drinks, didn't clean off our table, ordered us the wrong food/dessert and acted like she could care less we were there. Very disappointing.

Great food, and even better service. Took my girlfriend to dinner for her birthday and our server did an amazing job and was very sweet and kind. Would come back again

Our food was incredible as always, and our server was exceptional. My only complaint is they no longer have their outstanding carrot cake with that tangy sauce. I miss that.

The food was excellent. The potions were so large that we took food home with us because we could not eat all of the portions! Our server was terrific.

The Shrimp Durango is no longer on the menu! That was our favorite!! Please bring it back!!
